Dwelling in the intersection between speech and language, at @karolinskainst.
Children's #SSD, #DevLangDis
SLP | Computational linguist | Speech scientist.
Last year, we wrapped up a 3-year project examining functional consequences of children's SSDs. The remaining manuscripts are just being published, and I thought I'd present them all in this thread. (All #openaccess)
The Oxford Handbook of Speech Development in Languages of the World will contain ~ 80 chapters about 50 languages (24 dialects). It is a huge task - but made easy by the calibre and care of the excellent authors. Due 2024. @OUPAcademic@helenlblake

@vishinair5@WFarahslt@ian_cushing @DrBLLINGSLP @leah_fabiano @DeafHistorian This looks really interesting! Unfortunately, I can't access it through my university - would it be possible to have a copy?
@LogopedBurge@DrJamesBooth Ja, intressant.

@deevybee Would be curious to know whether any 'clinical linguists' work clinically? My intuition is that it isn't a licenced profession? Maybe @IALP_Global has some input on wheter different labels come with different roles?
@deevybee Agreed, also from my perspective as a 🇸🇪 'logoped'! I refer to myself an SLP/T in English. Never as a 'clinical linguist'. I assume this is because no 🇸🇪 uni's offer courses in 'clin ling', only full-4-ys 'logoped' education programmes.
