Global leaders must commit to at least USD 1 trillion per year — in the form of grants, not loans.
Countries hit the hardest by a climate crisis they did not cause cannot continue to be pushed further into debt.

We're putting the super-rich in the spotlight.
Our new report lays out why the richest people in the world must pay what they owe – to help fix the climate crisis and much more 💰
It's time to #TaxTheirBillions.

Wealthy nations must demonstrate that they are willing to put money on the table and engage seriously about reforms to international financial architecture.
🗣️ @catabreu_#G20Brasil#COP29
Today was day 6 of #COP29, and also the global day of mobilization for #ClimateJustice!🌏
From London to Baku, people around the world mobilised this weekend to build pressure on global leaders for ambitious climate commitments and for rich countries to pay up what they owe.
Today at #COP29Baku, Indigenous leaders & climate campaigners launched The #TaxTheirBillions Dossier & the #EnergiaDosPovos campaign, two critical campaigns to underscore the urgent need for wealthy nations & billionaires to take responsibility for funding climate solutions.
Billionaires contribute more to the climate crisis in one and a half hours than most people do in their whole lives. Tackling the climate crisis means tackling inequality.
On Sept 27, @350GROC held a peaceful VOTE FOR RE march themed **"Power up Our Future with Renewables,"** marching from Danquah Circle to Parliament House.
Youth, civil society, and climate experts united to submit a petition urging the government to commit to **10% renewable energy by 2030** and include renewable initiatives in political party manifestos.

From Europe to Latin America, the lives of people around the world are being turned upside down by devastating climate disasters like floods & droughts.
Meanwhile, the COP Troika — which consists of the UAE, Azerbaijan & Brazil — are still not giving us the ambition we need to prevent climate impacts like these from becoming more frequent.
As we continue through to the UN biodiversity summit #COP16, the climate summit #COP29 & beyond, we must keep up the pressure on global leaders for a full and fair phase-out of fossil fuels & real investment in renewable energy access for all.

Analysis by @climateactiontr finds Azerbaijan's climate action "critically insufficient," & today continues a pattern of poor leadership from the #COP29 host.
"If Azerbaijan doesn't do more, it will lose once & for all the little credibility it still has left." —@ClimateAndreas
🚨#COP Troika high-level event disappoints in New York as presidencies show up empty-handed on climate commitments
We express concern over the lack of concrete commitments of the Troika presidencies to transition away from #FossilFuels and triple #RenewableEnergy (🧵)
"Transparent & accessible data on renewable energy from @GlobalEnergyMon is critical...in tracking progress towards climate commitments & for holding governments & economic leaders accountable."
💬 350's @soniakwami on "Open Data for the Energy Transition” panel #ClimateWeekNYC
Countries will release climate plans known as National Determined Contributions #NDCs, that outline how they will reduce emissions, build resilience & adapt to climate impacts.
NDCs must:
👉Show climate leadership
👉Pave the way for a just transition.

We welcome Brazilian President Lula’s commitment to delivering a 1.5°C-aligned Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) or "climate goal" later this year as a crucial step towards climate action.
At the same time, we have some grave concerns (🧵)
Our Head of Regions, @SavioConnects, on @BBCNews reacting to the #PactForTheFuture.
"Countries are ready, communities are ready...There is need for action, & there is need for finance."
It's time for bold, ambitious climate action in the form of tripling renewable energy capacity & clear plans to phase out fossil fuels. And it's time for rich countries to put the money on the table to fund the just transition.
