@AlexanderDent6 These three had to be the stand out papers in immunology for me, barely a single cell in sight: https://t.co/SUO3oPzboK

NEW Highlight of @ScienceMagazine paper by @StinchcombeJane @griffiths_lab showing that TCR+ ectosomes (green) bud from the surface of a cytotoxic T cell (red) at the immune synapse, which terminates TCR signalling and promotes dissociation from target

A new study reveals that cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs) shed activated T cell receptors through ectocytosis, not endocytosis as previously thought. This helps explain how CTLs are able to rapidly destroy multiple target cells in succession. @griffiths_lab

Delighted to share our latest research following T cell receptor (TCR) by 3D TEM and showing ectocytosis makes TCR signalling self limiting at the immune synapse.
Many thanks to everyone involved.

Is the killer T cell the #JohnWick of the immune system?
Cytotoxic T cells are trained assassins who can kill and kill again. Scientists at @griffiths_lab @TheCIMR have captured them on film hunting down and destroying #cancer cells: https://t.co/51BS8eClXs

Such a significant day for #malaria It’s not a perfect vaccine, it’s not the end of the road, but it’s a huge step forward that will save lives. Massive effort by so many people to reach this point. 🎉💯
What do the primary cilium and immune synapse have in common (except for being two of my favourite things)? Read about it in our perspective for @JCellBiol @griffiths_lab @StinchcombeJane#cilia#immunesynapse#Tcells.
