@RuhakanaR Rt.Hon. Rugunda. Actually, about decade or so ago, when Ugandans wanted you to stand - you kept quiet. I doubt it is the same case today...

@JOYFORCHILDREN @JKCharlotte1 @lynda_eunice @Peacekig @nankunda20 @for_initiative @PlanUganda @Parliament_Ug @uwonet Women today occupy strategic global positions and continue to seize opportunities that a while ago were adjudged men's space. However such opportunities have gone to few women and the majority are still relegated to the shackles of marginalization. Yet they can do more.

[Stuart Oramire @stuartoramire]

@JOYFORCHILDREN @JKCharlotte1 @lynda_eunice @AkelloAsiimire @Parliament_Ug @equalitynow Two things - civic empowerment of the citizenry to understand these laws and ensuring that access to justice is affordable for all

[Stuart Oramire @stuartoramire]

@JOYFORCHILDREN @lynda_eunice @JKCharlotte1 @AkelloAsiimire @Peacekig @nankunda20 Recourse has to be sought in the law. The Penal code Act clearly offers remedies. However there is an urgent need to pass the Sexual Offences bill and the Marriage and Divorce bill . Lastly @ugandaupf at the investigative level and the @JudiciaryUG should up their game

[Stuart Oramire @stuartoramire]

@JOYFORCHILDREN @TMFUganda @JAtimango @PlanUganda @GAA_Uganda @lynda_eunice @MosesNtenga @JKCharlotte1 @AkelloAsiimire @unwomenuganda @amplifyfund Women play a fundamental yet, most often undermined role. At the micro level, women constitute the biggest source of labour for primary agriculture at household level. Two - women also play a vital role in raising, nurturing families, a contributory element to societal devpt.

What is the contribution of women towards the economic development of your country? #womensweek @TMFUganda @JAtimango @PlanUganda @GAA_Uganda @lynda_eunice @MosesNtenga @JKCharlotte1 @AkelloAsiimire @unwomenuganda @amplifyfund

[Stuart Oramire @stuartoramire]

@JOYFORCHILDREN @JKCharlotte1 @lynda_eunice @AkelloAsiimire Affirmative action for women and girls should transcend the two core areas of education and political leadership. Women need to be supported across all the facets of daily life.

[Stuart Oramire @stuartoramire]

@JOYFORCHILDREN @nankunda20 @lynda_eunice @JKCharlotte1 @AkelloAsiimire @VNayebare @MosesNtenga @GirlsNotBrides @RaisingTeensUg peripheral position in all fabrics of society - socio-economic and political

[Stuart Oramire @stuartoramire]

@JOYFORCHILDREN @lynda_eunice @PlanUganda @MosesNtenga @AkelloAsiimire @Roland4Nas @JKCharlotte1 One of the main drivers, in my opinion, is societal reinforced gender stereotyping that skews power relations in favour of males.

[Stuart Oramire @stuartoramire]

@JOYFORCHILDREN @JKCharlotte1 @uwonet @unwomenuganda @lynda_eunice @RaisingTeensUg @GirlsNotBrides @equalitynow @AkelloAsiimire @MosesNtenga @Peacekig @Moglsd_UG The first step is formulation of an enabling framework, step two is to resource and then enforce the framework for gender parity
