मुंबईत येत्या काही दिवसांत किमान १ लाख झाडे लावण्याचे उद्दिष्ट - महापौर श्रीमती रितू तावडे

🔷मुंबई महानगरात येत्या काळात किमान १ लाख झाडांची लागवड करण्याचे उद्दिष्ट निश्चित केले आहे. त्यादृष्टीने पडीक मोकळ्या जागा, रस्त्यांच्या दुतर्फा, रस्ते दुभाजक, उड्डाणपुलांखालील जागा अशा विविध पर्यायांचा शोध घेऊन वृक्ष लागवडीची निश्चिती करावी. विशेषतः मुंबई महानगराचे सौंदर्य खुलवणारे व त्याचवेळी धूळ आणि प्रदूषण नियंत्रणास मदत होईल, अशा प्रकारचे हरितक्षेत्र विकसित करावयाचे आहे. त्यामुळे हा संकल्प तडीस नेण्यासाठी सातत्याने आढावा घेण्यात येईल, अशी सूचना मुंबईच्या महापौर श्रीमती रितू तावडे यांनी केली आहे.

🔷मुंबई महानगरातील पडीक मोकळ्या जागा, रस्त्यांच्या दुतर्फा, वाहतूक बेटे तसेच रस्ते दुभाजक, उड्डाणपुलांखालील जागा इत्यादी ठिकाणी शक्य तिथे वृक्ष लागवड व हिरवळ फुलवणे याअनुषंगाने मुंबईच्या महापौर श्रीमती रितू तावडे यांच्या अध्यक्षतेखाली आणि उपमहापौर श्री. संजय घाडी यांच्या प्रमुख उपस्थितीत महानगरपालिका मुख्यालयातील स्थायी समिती सभागृहात आज (दिनांक १६ जून २०२६) सायंकाळी बैठक पार पडली. त्यावेळी महापौर श्रीमती रितू तावडे यांनी विविध सूचना केल्या.

🔷अतिरिक्त महानगरपालिका आयुक्त (पूर्व उपनगरे) डॉ. अविनाश ढाकणे, उपआयुक्त (परिमंडळ १) डॉ. (श्रीमती) चंदा जाधव, उपआयुक्त (परिमंडळ २) श्री. प्रशांत सपकाळे, उपआयुक्त (परिमंडळ ३) श्री. विश्वास मोटे, उपआयुक्त (परिमंडळ ४) डॉ. (श्रीमती) भाग्यश्री कापसे, उपआयुक्त (परिमंडळ ५) श्रीमती संध्या नांदेडकर, उपआयुक्त (परिमंडळ ६) डॉ. संतोषकुमार धोंडे, उपआयुक्त (परिमंडळ ७) श्री. मनीष वळंजू, उपआयुक्त (उद्याने) श्री. अजितकुमार आंबी, उपआयुक्त (पायाभूत सुविधा) श्री. गिरीश निकम, प्रमुख अभियंता (रस्ते) श्री. मंतय्या स्वामी, प्रमुख अभियंता (पूल) श्री. राजेश मुळे, उद्यान अधीक्षक श्री. जितेंद्र परदेशी यांच्यासह सर्व संबंधित अधिकारी यावेळी उपस्थित होते.

🔷महापौर श्रीमती रितू तावडे यांनी सांगितले की, मुंबईतील हरित संपदा वाढावी याकडे महापौर या नात्याने माझा विशेष भर आहे. जागतिक पर्यावरण दिनी वृक्ष लागवड अभियानाचा शुभारंभ करण्यात आला. या उपक्रमाला वेग देण्यासाठी तसेच विविध संकल्पना राबवून मुंबईमध्ये किमान १ लाख झाडे येत्या काही दिवसांत लागवड करण्याचा निश्चय करण्यात आला आहे. त्यादृष्टीने सर्व परिमंडळीय उपआयुक्त तसेच रस्ते विभाग, पूल विभाग, उद्यान विभाग यांनी आपापल्या सूचना व आराखडे सादर करावेत. रस्त्यांच्या दुतर्फा, रस्ते दुभाजक, वाहतूक बेटे, उड्डाणपुलांखालील मोकळ्या जागा इत्यादी ठिकाणी झाडे लावणे शक्य आहे. त्यादृष्टीने शोध घ्यावा. विलेपार्लेमध्ये उड्डाणपुलाखाली शहरी शेती हा अभिनव उपक्रम साकारण्यात आला आहे. अशा अभिनव संकल्पनांवर विचार करावा. उड्डाणपुलांवर व्हर्टिकल गार्डनसारख्या पर्यायांचाही विचार करावा. आवश्यकता असल्यास त्यासाठी तज्ज्ञांची मदत घ्यावी, अशी सूचना महापौर श्रीमती तावडे यांनी केली.

🔷उपमहापौर श्री. संजय घाडी म्हणाले की, महापौरांच्या पुढाकाराने सुरू करण्यात आलेले हे विशेष वृक्ष लागवड अभियान हा चांगला उपक्रम आहे. विशेषतः उड्डाणपुलांखालील जागा मोकळी व स्वच्छ करून तेथे वृक्ष लागवड करायला हवी. लागवड केलेली रोपे व झाडे जगतील, याकडे कटाक्षाने लक्ष द्यावे. या प्रयत्नांना अभियानाचे स्वरूप देऊन अंमलबजावणी करावी. फळझाडे व औषधी झाडे लावता येतील का, याचाही या अभियानामध्ये विचार व्हावा, अशी सूचना उपमहापौर श्री. घाडी यांनी केली.

🔷अतिरिक्त महानगरपालिका आयुक्त (पूर्व उपनगरे) डॉ. अविनाश ढाकणे म्हणाले की, मुंबईतील वृक्षांची संख्या व हिरवळ वाढविण्यासाठी सातत्याने प्रयत्न केले जात आहेत. नवीन पूल, उड्डाणपूल, रस्ते, प्रकल्प इत्यादी साकारल्यानंतर उपलब्ध होणाऱ्या जागांवर वृक्षराजीसाठी प्राधान्य द्यायला हवे. सर्व मिळून किमान एक लाख झाडे लावता येतील, इतकी जागा मुंबईभर उपलब्ध होऊ शकते. त्यामुळे तसा शोध लवकरात लवकर घ्यावा आणि पुढील बैठकीत संबंधितांनी आराखड्यासह संपूर्ण माहिती सादर करावी. बांबू लागवडीसारखा पर्याय हा मुंबईतील वातावरणात पोषक व पर्यावरण संरक्षणासाठी उपयुक्त आहे. अशा विविध मुद्द्यांचा समावेश करून या उपक्रमाची वेगाने अंमलबजावणी करावी, असे डॉ. ढाकणे यांनी सर्व संबंधित अधिकाऱ्यांना निर्देश दिले.

🔷तत्पूर्वी, बैठकीत सर्व उपआयुक्त व अधिकाऱ्यांनी आपापली मते मांडली व यथायोग्य माहिती सादर केली.

Mumbai is the land of the Koli and Agri communities. They are the indigenous inhabitants of this region.

But saying Mumbai was "built" by them alone is simply not true.

Modern Bombay grew into a major port city through the contributions of Maharashtrians, Gujaratis, Parsis, Marwadis, South Indians and countless others over generations.

Mumbai was built by many communities. Not one.

Jainism has deep roots in Maharashtra and across India. One of the oldest known inscriptions containing the Navkar Mantra is associated with Maharashtra and dates back roughly 200BCE. Maharashtra is also home to the magnificent Jain caves at , a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most important Jain heritage sites in the country.

Jainism is not a "Gujarati" or "Marwadi" religion. It is an Indian religion with a presence stretching from Maharashtra and Karnataka to Rajasthan, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and beyond.

The irony here is rich.
This influencer himself is the landlord most likely sold his land to some gujarati builder in return for a lavish flat and money, yet now wants to frame a local dispute as a grand civilizational struggle.

But turning every disagreement into Marathi vs non-Marathi or Jain vs Marathi is lazy activism designed to generate outrage, not solutions.
