@simongerman600 It's a nice map, but the text is largely nonsense. E.g. the Czechs have mostly had net positive immigration, some of the regions are obviously uninhabited, etc. This must have taken a lot of work to collect, why not spend 2 hours doing some actual queries rather than just vibes?
@eeldenden I like how even in the futuristic vision of 2040 there is no high speed rail through Bavaria. "Should we connect the two highest GDP German speaking cities by rail? Nah, lets everyone drive through that weird 10 km stretch of unpaved road in Austria."
๐ It's Christmas in July!
We raised $4M to make proactive macOS security scalable for everyone.
Workshop is the first commercial platform built for Santa. Finally making allowlisting usable at scale.
Thanks to @a16z, @RoyalHansen, & every who's believed in our mission.
If you're learning C++ you should know it never gets better. I have 12 years of professional C++ experience and it just took me 30 minutes to insert a pair into an unordered_map. There is no hope, we must kill it with fire.
My D&D campaign would be like "The genie offers a choice of three doors, one of which has a magic item, the other two goats. You pick a door and the genie opens one of the remaining two, behind which is a goat. The genie then offers you to switch your choice - should you?"
The Signal outage looks like a DNS issue? If you have a previous IP for https://t.co/owr0GpOioU, you can put it in your /etc/hosts and the client will connect.
@Austen Whatโs wrong with IRC again? I donโt understand why we, as an industry, have to reinvent it every few years, only worse and requiring 2 GB of RAM and 30 second startup.
The craziest part of UBS buying Credit Suisse is that they did it on a Sunday. A Sunday! In Switzerland? I donโt think people understand the sheer gravity. At this rate, some Sunday soon, I might even be able to get a sandwich.
@theSTERE0@DropboxSupport@Dropbox I am so frustrated with multiple tech companies no longer giving a damn about what their users actually want. At the moment, I'm trying out https://t.co/3LDx8Lu5oR, which seems to work the same way Dropbox did 5-10 years ago. So far so good, maybe give that a try.
If you're on macOS and want the old Dropbox back - a regular folder synced across your devices and the cloud - https://t.co/3LDx8Lu5oR seems to be exactly that, and I'm currently switching to it.
@Dropbox Trivially disproving Dropbox's "it's not us, it's Apple" line, https://t.co/YWs0Ia30D5 apparently continues to offer a synchronized folder on your drive, and I'm currently switching to it.
So @dropbox *decided* to use the File Provider API and now they're blaming Apple for Dropbox no longer supporting its core function: a folder on your drive that's "rsynced" to the cloud.
Apple can't stop you syncing a folder. You are *choosing* to build a product no one wants.
@the_aiju I still think this is better (more obvious how to change, more debuggable, more readable) than if theyโd tried to be โcleverโ with equal time and knowledge. This could have been some insane XML driven thing with 4 levels of indirection. Not great, but couldโve been much worse.
