I spent 15+ years building smart home products at MS, Amazon, and Control4. The Key team went directly against our (Alexa) strategy and guidance in doing a deal with them.

Chamberlain is led by the most customer-hostile (evil?) leaders I’ve ever encountered.

Do not buy their products. Genie GDOs are awesome.

Too many apps is a huge complaint people have about smart home in general. And the aggregator apps aren’t currently setup to support all the bespoke functional of the individual apps and devices. I think we’ll see agents change that as you point out.
