People who are not highly materialistic, being less money hungry, have less drive to work hard and suffer the indignity of being thought of as a bit of a loser. People think they are incapable.
But some people are just meant to be semi-retired their whole life.
@Empty_America@michellmybell1 It boils down to having kids who haven't finished high school. And after they are out of the house most married guys won't divorce their wives (for a variety of reasons) to live how they wish they could.
@ArtemisConsort Apart from inheritance or marrying into money, to be a billionaire you typically need to have many employees the bulk of which create more wealth than you pay them, and having that difference moved up the pyramid to you, as owner.
@LionBlogosphere MBA school is easy (easy to get at least a B) but at a top school I'd say it's very hard to graduate in the top % of class. Unless it's an Executive MBA, you're competing against people who went to top undergrad STEM programs, harder than the Harvard Econ program.
@WestsideLAGuy MBA school is rather easy but that's odd that he could graduate in the top 5% of Stanford GSB with little effort considering as long as it wasn't an Executive MBA, he was competing against people who went to top undergrad schools.
@doofypoaster@ArtemisConsort Look at the sheer number of employees and projects that are ongoing across Elon's many companies. Then ask yourself what fraction of the work Elon is doing versus each project team.
@RichardHanania Actually, no. For a woman, yeah she's very strong but look at female grip strength compared to men's. Something like 0.1% of females have a grip strength higher than the male median.
@ArtemisConsort On a core development team of maybe 100 people on the leaping car project the percent of actual work he contributes is miniscule especially considering other stuff he has going on.
@Empty_America I'd frame it as the owners either can't afford or don't want to spend the money on the labor. It's supply and demand. If the demand were strong enough, the owners would raise wages to the point where labor would come. But they want to put the money elsewhere.
@DavidandersonJd@LionBlogosphere As I age, I find that I would consider "settling" for college age women whom I would not have considered had they been my age while I was in college. But they aren't interested in me now because I'm too old. And I'm not keen on p2p.
@DavidandersonJd@LionBlogosphere They want a man who has more wealth than them. The rough equivalent of a woman marrying a man with less wealth is a highly eligible man marrying a fat woman. It happens, but it's rare.
@LionBlogosphere The necessary requirement is that his has a lot of money, more than she has. Anything else from her perspective is a bonus--he's okay looking, maybe has a good personality, well-adjusted, etc.
