Sheka-Eyamo Nursery Prepares 135 Thousand Tree Seedlings for Planting
The Sheka-Eyamo nursery centre has prepared 135 thousand tree seedlings for planting during the current rainy season.
Mr. Teklemariam Haile, a forestry and wildlife conservation expert, said that the indigenous and other tree seedlings are expected to be planted by participants in the studentsโ summer work program, individuals, schools and other institutions.
Mr. Tesfay Fesehaye, Manager of the Nursery Centre, called for regular follow-up to ensure the survival and sustainability of the trees that will be planted.
Likewise, Mr. Tekeste Kiflemariam, representative of the Forestry and Wildlife Authority in the Gash Barka Region, indicated that 820 thousand tree seedlings are ready for planting at nursery centres in the sub-zones of Barentu, Akordet, Mensura and Logo-Anseba.
Mr. Tekeste called on area administrations and villages to coordinate the planting of the tree seedlings and conduct regular follow-up to ensure their sustainability.
The area administrators, on their part, called for the trees to be planted by participants in the studentsโ summer work program and vegetable farmers in selected areas, with a view to ensuring the survival of the newly planted seedlings.
For nearly 25 years, Swedish-Eritrean journalist Dawit Isaak has been held in Eritrea without charge or trial. This is an intolerable violation of human rights and press freedom. It is time to act! I call upon the Swedish government and EU representatives to finally increase diplomatic pressure. #FreeDawit #DawitIsaak @UNHumanRights@freeCodeCamp
For nearly 25 years, Swedish-Eritrean journalist Dawit Isaak has been imprisoned in Eritrea without charge or trial. This is an unbearable violation of human rights and all international legal norms. Eritrea fundamentally disregards the right to a fair trial and its own constitution. This absolute lawlessness can no longer be tolerated! I urge the Swedish government and EU officials to finally increase diplomatic pressure. #FreeDawit #DawitIsaak #PressFreedom

For almost a quarter of a century, #DawitIsaak has been denied his freedom.
Today, weโre asking you to take one minute to help change that.
September 23, 2026 marks 25 years since the enforced disappearance and arbitrary detention of Swedish-Eritrean journalist Dawit Isaak in Eritrea.
He has been imprisoned without charge or trial, denied contact with his family, stripped of his legal rights, and deprived of basic humanitarian protections.
It is time to act.

Why are so many people fleeing Eritrea? The country suffers under one of the harshest dictatorships in the world. The indefinite national service often forces young people into decades of slave-like forced labor, destroying any chance of planning a life. A dense network of informants monitors the population, while there is neither a constitution nor independent courts. Economically, the country is at a standstill, and those who flee put their families in danger (collective punishment). Even abroad, the regime reaches out: an illegal 2% diaspora tax is extorted through embassies. People are not fleeing a war, but a system that robs them of all dignity and future. #Eritrea #HumanRights #EBRF#BlueRevolution#NomorePfDJTerror #RegimeChangeln Eritrea ๐ช๐ท @USEmbassyPH@UNHumanRights@UN_Women free @Refugees@USUN@wediteame17@hewan2026@AlexanderA86901@Afiye1952@SHAKURgc@Burkuta17@MeleySawra46014@SemereYohannes3@TekluTomaa52123@Fadaxnadegle@MametEBRF5358@HaftiLewhat@ilo87839
That is exactly why we want to flee this wretched life with our family! The government in Eritrea betrays its own people and strips them of everything. They even demand taxes from Eritreans living abroad to enrich themselves. There is no development and no progressโthe government wants everything to remain just as bad. ๐
It is neither the people on social media nor the dictators in Eritrea, Europe, or America who will determine Eritreaโs future. The people who are truly destined to lead Eritrea will step forward.
For over 34 years, the regime in Asmara has been lying to its own population. For decades, citizens have been told that the US and the West are to blame for the poverty, sanctions, and regional conflicts. But reality looks completely different.
Behind closed doors, Foreign Minister Osman Saleh meets with US officials to negotiate deals, partnerships, and the lifting of sanctions. When it comes to the regime's survival and money, the supposed "arch-enemy" suddenly becomes a welcome partner.
This enemy image is deliberately maintained to distract from their own political mismanagement and oppression. As long as people believe in an external threat, the regime can refuse reforms. Stop the double standards! The Eritrean people finally deserve honesty, freedom, and real economic prospects. ๐ช๐ท๐ #Eritrea #Asmara #HornOfAfrica @Fadaxnadegle@phelemawi@SHAKURgc@wediteame17@AlexanderA86901@Afiye1952@AsterRezen42351@TekluTomaa52123@ErmiLiberty@KasanetBerhane@MeleySawra46014@Nhameda12@SemereYohannes3@EBRF@Burkuta17@hewan2026@BerhaneSan99254@MikiEBRF@HaftiLewhat@SelamNkulu9
It is easy to applaud from the safety of the EU. But for this young girl, the reality is not a social media trend; it is a harsh struggle for survival in indefinite military service. Stop sugarcoating the suffering of the people in Eritrea! How would you feel if it were your own childโa young womanโforced to take up arms there? If you think itโs so great, why donโt you send your own children there to serve in the military? Why do you live safely abroad while celebrating the suffering of others? #Eritrea #HumanRights #sawasdeeseoulthaifestival2026 #EBRF @Burkuta17@SHAKURgc@AlexanderA86901@Amanuel192@ilo87839@merihwegihu@AsterRezen42351@ErmiLiberty@wediteame17@HaftiLewhat@WorldBankGroup@freedomhouse@UNICEF@UN_Women
@SHaile894 Nice street photos do not represent real progress. The reality in Eritrea is corruption, oppression, and a government that pockets the money instead of looking after its own citizens. Stop sugarcoating the situation.
