The test run of the Isiolo Export Abattoir has been a resounding success. The Small Stock Processing Line (Sheep and Goats) and the Large Stock Processing Line (Cattle and Camels), including the slaughter and processing facilities, have been successfully commissioned and are now fully operational ahead of the official launch by His Excellency President @WilliamsRuto.
In preparation for this landmark occasion, the County Government, in collaboration with the National Government, is undertaking final infrastructure improvements, including the construction and upgrading of road links within and around the abattoir complex, expansion and improvement of the parking area, completion and upgrading of the main entrance gate and other auxiliary civil works to support smooth operations. In addition, the planned extension of the Isiolo International Airport runway will further strengthen the region’s logistics and export capacity.
The successful commissioning confirms the facility’s operational readiness and demonstrates the County Government’s commitment to delivering a world-class livestock processing plant that will enhance value addition, create jobs, and unlock international markets for livestock farmers across Isiolo and the wider region.
Isiolo is ready. The future of livestock exports begins here.

Every mother deserves the opportunity to give birth safely, with dignity and in a well-equipped health facility. Guided by this commitment, I am pleased to announce another significant milestone in our efforts to strengthen healthcare services across Isiolo County.
Following our engagements with the M-PESA Foundation, a technical assessment has been successfully completed for the proposed construction of a KSh 65 million Mother and Child Centre at Garbatulla Level IV Hospital.
The successful completion of this assessment marks a critical step toward implementation. Its findings will guide the design and development of the facility in full compliance with Ministry of Health standards, ensuring that the Centre meets the highest quality and safety requirements.
Once completed, the Mother and Child Centre will significantly improve maternal and child healthcare services in Garbatulla and the surrounding communities. It will expand access to quality maternal, newborn and emergency obstetric care, reduce unnecessary referrals and bring lifesaving services closer to the people who need them most.
May Allah accept our fasting and prayers, forgive our shortcomings and fill our lives with peace, joy, and countless blessings.
Wishing you a happy and blessed Eid ul-Fitr. #EidMubarak
We mark a step forward in safeguarding the lives of our people. Isiolo County is rolling out three state-of-the-art ambulances, a sturdy Land Cruiser and two cutting-edge Nissans, each fully equipped to respond to emergencies and critical referrals with speed and precision.
This investment is more than just new vehicles; it is a solemn commitment that no life in Isiolo will be left behind because of distance or terrain. We are building a county where emergency care is within reach for all, and together, we will deliver on that promise.

As part of our commitment to heal and unite after the failed impeachment motion, I met with Deputy Governor @DGLowasa, Hon. Peter Losu (Ngaremara Ward) and Hon. Nicholas Lorot (Burat Ward). Their stand for truth and willingness to foster togetherness reflect the true spirit of leadership. I urge all leaders to embrace this unity as we work for Isiolo’s shared progress and prosperity.

Yesterday, Isiolo spoke with one voice for peace. I sincerely thank every resident who turned up for the Isiolo Pamoja Mega Rally. Your presence affirmed our county’s commitment to unity, harmony, and a better future. #IsioloPamoja#OnePeople
Our administration is steadfast in delivering tangible results for Isiolo residents. We have completed projects ranging from clean water in Modogashe, a modern A&E with ICU/HDU Unit, 7 new dispensaries, and 3 ECDs per ward, to KSh 75M in bursaries, and recruitment of 60 nurses, 60 clinical officers & 7 medical officers, all with the well-being of our people at heart.
We have also fast-tracked the issuance of 10,000 title deeds, advanced community land registration, built 2km of tarmac in Bulapesa, and installed streetlights to boost safety & livelihoods.
These completed initiatives are just a few highlights, with many more projects in infrastructure, health, education & youth empowerment already delivered or ongoing, proof that Isiolo is rising. This is the true face of devolution.
