The Kuki-Zo are still waiting a concrete action from the @HMOIndia@PMOIndia against the secessionist trans nat'l terrorist group NSCN-IM which is burning our villages w/ help from int'l terrorist group like SNA.

This man is a former IPS officer and former DGP of Manipur, yet he is referring to Kukis as “nomads,” despite the fact that Manipur’s previous DGP, P. Doungel, was himself a Kuki IPS officer who served with distinction before taking voluntary retirement in 2023.
When those who have held the highest offices indulge in such rhetoric, it only deepens divisions and fuels hatred from the top down.
This hostility is not going to solve anything in Manipur. Every community has contributed to the nation in its own way. The constant obsession with proving one tribe is superior to another has consumed the state, and the reality is that no community will emerge victorious from this race. The only thing increasing every day is the suffering of ordinary people and the body bags.

A brutal cross-border terror attack on Kultuh has once again exposed the vulnerability of border communities. Kuki Inpi Manipur has demanded justice, accountability, and immediate action. The victims deserve answers, not silence.
When governments repeatedly fail to protect lives, implement signed agreements or provide basic administrative security, people will eventually be forced to seek their own course of survival and governance.
The directive issued by WCKCSOs-Ukhrul to KCA-U and KSO-U is born out of prolonged neglect, insecurity and Govt. of Manipur @YKhemchandSingh & GoI @narendramodi apathy toward the Kuki-Zo people of Ukhrul and Kamjong district.
A state govt. that has abandoned its citizens should not be surprised when those citizens stop believing in the state itself and oppose their demand for #Separate_Administration.

🚨STRONG CONDEMNATION OF FALSE NARRATIVE SPREAD BY TANGKHUL USERS BLAMING KUKIS FOR NONEY DISTRICT FIRING🆘
Date: 22 May 2026:
We strongly condemn the deliberate spread of misinformation by Tangkhul social media users falsely blaming the Kuki community for the recent firing incident in Pongringlong Part 1 (Upper), Noney District, Manipur.
THE FACTS:
The firing on 22/05/2026 was between NSCN (IM) and ZUF (Zenchiu). There was NO ATTACK BY KUKIS ON CIVILIANS. This has been clarified by fact-checking groups including Northeast Frontier Affairs.
THE LIES:
Despite this, Tangkhul users and pages including Ruangmei Today, Ambrose FreeBird, and
Tangkhul Naga Traveller circulated posts claiming “Kuki militants attacked Naga farmers” and “Fresh attack to Rongmei Civilians by Kuki Terrorists.” These posts weaponized unrelated images and fabricated captions to incite hatred against Kukis.
1. We condemn the Tangkhul users who manufactured and amplified this false narrative. Editing facts and blaming Kukis for a clash between two Naga factions is a calculated lie meant to demonize an entire community.
2. We denounce this propaganda as a dangerous attempt to inflame ethnic tensions in Manipur. Such lies put innocent Kuki lives at risk and derail peace efforts in the region.
WE DEMAND:
1. Immediate deletion of all posts falsely blaming Kukis for the Noney district firing.
2. Public apology from Ruangmei Today, Ambrose FreeBird, Tangkhul Naga Traveller, and other accounts that spread these lies.
3. Action by Meta, X, and law enforcement under IT Act provisions against users spreading fake communal content.
4. An end to the pattern of Tangkhul propaganda that scapegoats Kukis for every incident in Manipur.
The truth is clear: Kukis did not attack Naga civilians in Pongringlong. The Tangkhul-led misinformation campaign is an attack on truth itself. We will not stay silent while lies are used to target our people.

Manipur: In a shocking live TV discussion on @sktvmanipur, Tangkhul social activist Ashang Kasar openly threatened to finish off Kukis. Sadly, hate speech and genocidal threats are being normalised while the administration stays silent. @HMOIndia@YKhemchandSingh@manipur_police
Manipur: When violent rhetoric against Kukis is aired live and ignored by the administration, what remains of law and order in Manipur? Ashang Kasar’s remarks on @sktvmanipur demand urgent action. Peace is a far cry when hate speeches go unchecked.

A Neutral Nepali Community Member Allegedly Abducted and Assaulted in Kanglatongbi, Imphal West
A Nepali-origin man, married to a Kuki woman, was reportedly abducted, blindfolded, tied up, and severely assaulted for several hours by a group of Kacha Liangmai volunteers along with suspected members of Arambai Tenggol at Kanglatongbi in Imphal West district on May 19.
The victim, Ramesh Bhandari, who later embraced Christianity and legally changed his name to Thangtinlen Doungel after his marriage, is a registered Internally Displaced Person (IDP) under Saitu Sub-Division.
According to his family, the incident took place in broad daylight while he had gone to Kanglatongbi Bazar Board to buy rice for his household.
After allegedly being held in illegal confinement and subjected to hours of physical torture, he was eventually rescued following the intervention of leaders from the Gorkha community and was later reunited with his wife.
The incident has raised serious concerns over civilian safety and human rights. There are growing calls for a fair and immediate investigation into the matter and for accountability against those responsible.

Press Statement
Dated 20th May, 2026
COPTAM-KH DEMANDS IMMEDIATE ARREST OF KONSAKHUL (KONSARAM) VILLAGE AUTHORITY MEMBERS FOR ALLEGED FORGERY, CRIMINAL INTIMIDATION AND THREATS OF FORCIBLE EVICTION AGAINST LEILON VAIPHEI VILLAGE
The Committee on Protection of Tribal Areas Manipur - Kuki Hills (COPTAM-KH) strongly condemns the unlawful, threatening and inflammatory memorandum issued by the so-called Konsakhul (Konsaram) Village Authority against the Chief and residents of Leilon Vaiphei Village under Kangchup Geljang Sub-Division, Kangpokpi District.
The impugned memorandum dated 28 January 2025 not only contains direct threats of forcible eviction, but also openly warns of possible “bloodshed,” thereby creating fear, tension and serious apprehension among innocent tribal villagers. Such acts are highly irresponsible, unlawful and dangerous to communal harmony and public peace in the hill areas of Manipur.
COPTAM-KH is deeply concerned by the alleged fabrication and circulation of a purported “lease agreement” claimed to have originated from the year 1920. Serious questions arise regarding the authenticity and genuineness of the said document, particularly when the alleged document reportedly bears characteristics of writing made with modern ball point pen ink, despite the fact that ball point pens were not introduced or commonly available in Manipur and India during the year 1920. This raises grave suspicion of forgery, fabrication and deliberate distortion of history for unlawful territorial and political objectives.
It is further alleged that Konsakhul (Konsaram) was itself settled in the present location on humanitarian grounds and under the protection and goodwill of Leilon Vaiphei Village for many years. In the absence of reliable historical records, attempts are now allegedly being made to twist and distort history through propaganda, fabricated narratives and forged documents in order to falsely project ownership and dominance over Leilon Vaiphei Village and adjoining tribal lands.
COPTAM-KH categorically states that no individual, village authority or organization has any legal authority to threaten forcible eviction, intimidate tribal villagers or declare unilateral ownership over another recognized village through fabricated historical claims. Such actions amount to criminal intimidation, provocation and a direct threat to peace and stability in the region. @YKhemchandSingh

A deeply disturbing incident has emerged from Kanglatongbi,Imphal West, where a Nepali-origin internally displaced person (IDP),who had legally embraced a Kuki identity after marrying a Kuki woman, was allegedly subjected to hours of torture and humiliation on May 19.
The victim,Thangtinlen Doungel, formerly known as Ramesh Bhandari and a registered IDP under Saitu Sub Division was reportedly abducted, blindfolded, and violently assaulted by a group of Liangmei Naga volunteers alongside suspected cadres linked to Arambai Tenggol.
The incident underscores the dangerous climate faced by displaced civilians, where even individuals seeking refuge, family, and identity within a community are allegedly being targeted through intimidation and mob violence.Such actions,if verified, cannot be normalised under any circumstance and demand immediate legal scrutiny.
A transparent investigation must be initiated without delay, and all perpetrators, irrespective of affiliation, must be held accountable under the law.
