Today’s arrest is example one billion and counting why actual adults don’t speculate about collective culpability when you don’t even know who the culpable individual is.
Also social media isn’t life. It’s the opposite.

@dvassallo Weird. I agree with you on most of the above, but I don't see how voting for a criminal / rapist is a move towards those values. Rather his corruption and lack of morals will do the opposite. But you do you; It's a free country.

@jessfraz I found when buying concert tickets at the start of the sale window, the dedicated mobile apps work better (i.e. can successfully consummate a purchase faster) than using a browser on a laptop / desktop. I imagine this is true for other things too.

For years, careful curations of freaks and geeks on Twitter has been a much better way to understand complex news stories than putatively serious reporting.

I am wondering whether we’ll update in a major way this year to prediction markets being an improvement on that.

TIL "adhocracy", from a description of Xerox PARC:

"The dominant form of coordination of work in an adhocracy is mutual adjustment, which refers to coordination of work by the simple process of informal communication.

@SwiftOnSecurity Assembled PCs as my job in the early 90s. We said amongst ourselves that every successful PC build demanded a blood sacrifice. I still remember diving in the water at swim team practice and feeling the sting from the cuts on my hands. Reminded me I was still alive, I suppose.
