Biggest advice I can give to tech people:
Stop limiting yourself to the tech stereotype.
Big issue comes your way, a day goes by, no update: mistake.
Silence doesn't read as "diligent." It reads as "unaware."
One line fixes it: "Still digging, here's what I know so far..."
@kareem_carr@eterevsky In practice, for me at least, its a lot of time prompting, testing, and reviewing the outcomes. Itโs true that minimal code is hand-written, itโs definitely not a hands-off process unless itโs a toy problem or internal tool. Interestingly, the design process is also AI assisted.
Leadership is a craft.
And like any craft, itโs built through mastery.
Not just of one thing - but three things:
๐ง Self-mastery
๐ค People mastery
โ๏ธ Execution mastery
If you want to be a complete leader, you have to work on all three.
@sama@sama do you see a convergence between the project concept and codex on the horizon? I use projects to define scope, architecture, dialog-based stuff, then I repeat a lot of it into codex/agent structure. It would be awesome if they could connect more seamlessly.
Engineering pitch translation guide:
You say: "We need OAuth 2.0 implementation"
Boss hears: [nothing useful]
You say: "N+1 query patterns"
Boss hears: [so what?]
What works: "This costs us $10K daily in abandoned carts."
Tell a story, don't confuse with tech.
In times of turmoil, people donโt need perfection.
They need presence.
A steady hand. A calm voice. Positive energy.
Someone who says:
โI canโt stop the storm, but I wonโt let it affect how I show up for my team.โ
@mhp_guy I believe it could have had more legs if they hadnโt been so aggressive in growth. They didnโt have a handle on their own cost basis, supply chain was not so transparent despite the vertical integration, so fundamentally the growth plan was based on some shaky hypotheses.
@LGUSSupport Thanks David. I tried the easy stuff, power cycle, reset, etc. There are no blockages, it looks to be a faulty door lock switch. Unfortunately the specific part seems like a rare commodity, odd given this is the new ThinQ series. I took a pic of the switch with my iPhone:
So much for quality.
Never had a problem with LG TVs, but this is the last LG home appliance I will ever buy.
Bought new at Loweโs, three months in, now unusable because of a hundred dollar part that nobody has. Useless manufacturers warranty.
What gives, @LgHomeRetail?
