The AST SpaceMobile network is taking shape, in orbit and on the ground.
Today, over 60 gateways are in various stages of completion, installation and planning worldwide.
Initial, intermittent coverage targeted before year-end 2026 in the U.S. and other key markets around the world.
A new layer of connectivity, designed to connect directly to the smartphones people already use.

I don't own $ASTS and not advice, but if you're capitulating just because a stock price went down..
There's little investment thesis or conviction in the first place.
People always have multi-year ideas like $RKLB becoming the next $SPCX or AST becoming the next Starlink competitor.
Kinda reminiscent of retail favorite names like $HOOD back in 2024, or $NBIS later in 2025...
But there's always capitulation periods along the way like the time hedge funds shorted Nebius to $70 in Dec/Jan, after calling it the Neocloud winter.
Or the wave of negative analyst DGs on Robinhood on the drop back to $17.
Or even macro scares like April 2025.
So lot of retail investors never gave their original longs time to play out.
Fast forward, a lot of these popular retail names do end up cooking... so kinda sad seeing how quickly sentiment turns.
$ASTS just announced that Europe’s four largest mobile carriers including Deutsche Telekom, Orange, Telefónica and Vodafone are exploring a joint satellite spectrum bid to support direct to phone connectivity across more than 500M subscribers.
What makes this really interesting is AST already has European ground infrastructure in place while dedicated satellite spectrum could allow its BlueBird network to deliver more capacity without relying entirely on the carriers existing cellular frequencies.
And I think this reinforces why the carriers want AST to succeed because they can expand coverage while keeping control of their customers and data rather than becoming dependent on $SPCX Starlink.

AST faces launch constraints today, and the market is watching every slip closely. AST currently depends on Falcon 9, a rocket owned by SpaceX, and that pressure could ease if other rockets return to service, particularly New Glenn, which carries up to eight BlueBirds per flight versus three from Falcon 9, the analyst tells investors in a research note.
On the flip side, the firm believes the market is underappreciating SpaceX's own launch risk, adding that it thinks AST remains positioned about six months ahead of SpaceX. Both companies are in this race and carry launch risk, the analyst adds.
$ASTS A lot of the attention lately has been on SPCX entering the MNO market, so wanted to shed some light on the other side of AST’s business that’s been growing behind the scenes.
Putting together a full list of govt contracts was quite a task, as most of the details were scattered across DoD websites, award descriptions, side letters, etc.
