Getting ready for my first academic conference tomorrow. Excited but nervous about the idea of presenting my honours thesis at #ASPP2018! Ready to explore the worlds of psychology and philosophy
Walking back into lab today to experiments not working? Your struggles and failures don’t disqualify you for a PhD - they are exactly what qualify you. Research is about overcoming challenges, and the resilience you build now is the foundation for your future success. #PhDchat
Awesome to be in Sydney for the inaugural #ASPP2018 conference. Treated to a public lecture by Andy Clark @fluffycyborg on what it means to be human - do our smartphone make us all cyborgs? Is my calendar part of my mind?
Officially submitted my honours thesis! Really happy with the research project - couldn't have asked for a better supervisor than Jon Redshaw. 3 major assessments to go and I'll be finished with my whole degree!
Special thanks to @Adamdbulley for all his help this year
‘Jelly Drops’ are a new innovation to help people with dementia stay hydrated with brightly coloured liquid drops that contain over 90% water and electrolytes. See the inventor Lewis Hornby talk about his inspiration for the project:
One of my all-time favourite papers. Only 18 citations, so I thought I should share. An MD cracked his knuckles for 50 years — but only for one hand. He concludes by calling into question other parental beliefs …

Too lazy to read our paper on tawaki pre-moult dispersal the just came out on PLoS One (https://t.co/l6kEP0nxb2 …)? We've got a 4-part comic for that courtesy of @giselledraws
Science is about overcoming failures. List: (1) once I got to be professor, my first 23 grant proposals we're rejected. I am very comfortable now. (2) I was mediocre at school (~B) and particularly bad at stats. Much of my lab's work is close to stats now.
I've been using R for almost 8 years, and I *just now* figured out how to make it spit out APA tables for me. I know I'm slow on the uptake here, but YOU GUYS - game changer #smallvictories

I was working with a 17 year old male on compassion. Asked him to consider 5 different scenarios where failure was experienced. On left is what what he would say to a friend. On right what he’d say to himself. Devastating. #365daysofcompassion
Not sure about using self-report measures of physical activity - interesting if true that video games involving physical activity don't improve attitudes towards physical activity
"Re-evaluating the neonatal imitation hypothesis", our response to Meltzoff et al's (2017) commentary is now in press in Developmental Science. You can read it here: https://t.co/U8rY6kESoc . Please share widely! @UQPsych @ECDC_UQ@jactopsy
