For 20, 40, 60 years they preached free trade and globalisation because they wanted to penetrate poor countries.
Now that it’s their turn to be penetrated, they suddenly “realise” it’s probably not the best way of doing things.
@DavidNdii It is not a good thing to use the five letter word ‘shame’ against somebody on Christmas Day since you are David. I saw you did a ‘layman’s ( layperson’s) draft of Chapter 12. In simple terms you sent your views on the subject to the Committee of Experts. Many people did that.
Long thread alert, this is a very personal story. If you see it please RT.
One day, you are out with friends and you receive a call that your 69-year-old dad, a retired surveyor, has been arrested for murder.
Takes me back to economist George Akerlof's market for lemons theory. Third-party verification by professionals like you is one way to reduce information asymmetry. Sellers (owners and dealers) hide information to the disadvantage of the buyers. It's a worldly phenomenon but it's exceptionally absurd in Kenya.
UPDATE
I've been able to trace where the conflict between us and this dealer started.
A client paid a deposit of Ksh 50,000 for a car and later called us to carry out an inspection.
During the inspection, we discovered that the mileage had been doctored — reduced from 149,292 km to 119,638 km.
Following the client’s clear instructions regarding mileage, we did not approve the car.
The client then demanded a refund, which the dealer refused to issue.
In anger, the dealer turned against us for exposing the truth.
He even tried to rally other dealers not to allow us into their yards, lying that we disapproved the sale because of a battery issue.
To him, we say — shame on you.
Your actions do not reflect the honesty and integrity of genuine Kiambu car dealers, who are known to be straightforward and professional.
For pre-purchase inspections, WhatsApp us on 0729 686 646.
Pia prepurchase inspector let the client know that kuna minor issues na actual major issues to be worried about.Small issues like small seal leaks shouldn’t be overblown.
Pia OBD sio kila kitu, kuna errors hukuwa static but hazina effect on the performance of the car.
DEATH AND THE RITUALS AMONG LUOS
Luo people perform a total of about fourteen rituals for one deceased . All rituals are performed only when elderly men died , and certain number of rituals are omitted depending upon age, sex,and marital status of the deceased.
A Bill to mutilate the constitution that's sponsored by one of THE BEST constitutional lawyers in Kenya.
No author can write irony better than real life in Kenya.
In less than 48 hours Gen Z protest in Nepal did the following:
- Burnt down multiple politicians' houses
- Increased the protest even during curfew and firing around multiple cities
- made the Prime Minister resign
- entered parliament and burnt it.
This is the generation that doesn't forgive, doesn't forget.

You know that thing where our folks would visit each other to "drink tea?"
We also need to find space to socialise using as little as possible.
Otherwise, friends who can't "keep up" will slowly disappear from your life. Friendship shouldn't cost money
I’m not falling for this gimmick of MPs suddenly pretending to clash with Ruto. It’s all staged theatre manufactured drama to make him look like a man under siege for “doing the right thing.” By attacking him, they hand him the perfect script: the victim who is being punished for condemning corruption. it’s not a fight against Ruto or for justice,it’s a game of optics, a performance designed to sway public sympathy. Politics as usual, dressed up as morality.
Any time you point out how things could be better in Kenya, like clockwork, someone pops up to say, “If you don’t like it, leave.”
Why is leaving the better option?
Like… aren’t you tired of mediocrity? Because I am. And you should be, too.
