@TAGuthrie@ON_Discourse I worked with Anthony on this, but I'm curious to hear your take. What do you think leaning into community means in this context?
The RSS feed. We never expected to hear about those in the next Internet.
But this media exec told us that it could be the real solution to broken search and bad social media.

The AI era has ushered in a new way of content interaction.
With @OpenAI's big announcement today, let's take a look at a debate over one of our provocations: Will prompting replace browsing? https://t.co/qYyLNWd1g0
Fuck, an earthquake in New York? Just felt in Long Island and my colleague who I was on a Zoom felt it in New Jersey. We're 175 miles apart and we felt it at the same time.
The internet is mutating in real-time. Search queries are being replaced by prompts. Search results are being replaced by direct information.
We are witnessing a new internet manifest. Change is happening, fast. We’re calling it Internet 2025.

Is the next internet going to be fundamentally different?
There is a lot of hype about an upcoming AI revolution, but that doesn’t mean we’re headed for a wholesale reinvention of the world wide web.
Here’s a level-headed perspective we overheard about Internet 2025 based on data: https://t.co/b8gE8viexz
The Internet is on the precipice of monumental change - new form factors, interactions, business models, and platforms are coming - fast. We’re not talking years, we’re talking months.

The web has always been perceived as an interconnected network of sites, but this new internet feels more like a magic mirror: prompt and you shall receive.
Does this transition mean media is doomed?

We copy, we steal. AI is no different. Nothing is original.
From @on_discourse Co-Founder @danjgardner:
“The advent of AI has shaken up traditional notions of creativity and its value. Many fear that AI is essentially “stealing” creativity, a unique attribute that should be fairly compensated. The belief is that if you use a creative output to generate something new the original idea needs to be fairly compensated. After all, if someone else profits from your original idea, shouldn’t you get a share? This seems reasonable and hard to dispute. But what makes creativity unique and therefore valuable?”
