⚡️RIGHT NOW: NEMA, @ASHRAEnews & @PNNLab release the AI Data Center Energy Performance Framework—a new resource linking standards, guidance & best practices for safe, reliable data center development.
🔌 Built for the infrastructure behind the AI economy.https://t.co/j6BamY9ktq
🤗It’s finally here! Visualizing the electroindustry innovations power AI & data centers mapped to specific guidance for their safe & effective installation for hyperscalers, developers, and constructors.
⚡️Excited to roll this out to everyone at @TheGBIorg’s Data Center Summit
⚡️ AI runs on electrical infrastructure: transformers, switchgear, power distribution, fire & life safety tech, and the skilled manufacturers behind them.

✅ Designed to help developers, operators, and contractors deploy these systems safely and effectively in fast-changing data center environments. https://t.co/20Sz6e6my7
Thanks to @FacilitiesDive for including NEMA’s Todd Sims on the transition of ENERGY STAR to @ENERGY.
Our view is clear: the program works, the expertise matters & the transition should ensure ENERGY STAR keeps delivering savings & value for Americans.

Energy Star—the federal program behind the blue label on efficient appliances & buildings—is moving to the Department of @Energy. Aligning it with the agency that sets efficiency standards makes sense.
Now the focus is on a smooth, transparent transition. https://t.co/YKKePb4Rd5
Love buildings, efficiency, and electrification? Let's ham-and-egg it. JOB: @NEMAupdates Managing Technical Director, Built Environment & Industrial/Core https://t.co/viA8NFstBl
Was pleased to represent @NEMAupdates at a roundtable hosted by @repdarrellissa today to talk about strengthening the Pro Codes Act. The country’s leading Standards Development Organizations are grateful for his leadership on protecting the copyright of standards.
Sen. Heinrich: The reconciliation bill alone is estimated to increase annual energy costs more than $16 billion in 2030 and more than $33 billion by 2035. And American families will bear those increased costs.
⚡️ Household electricity prices are rising due to growing electrification, outdated infrastructure, and delays in bringing new capacity online.
If you’re worried about your energy bill, see what our very own EVP of Energy David Hill has to say to CNBC: “It’s a pretty simple story: It’s a story of supply and demand.”
NEMA urges Congress to sustain the voluntary, bipartisan @ENERGYSTAR program as a key federal partnership driving energy efficiency and innovation. As electricity demand climbs—fueled by AI, e-mobility, data centers, and expanded manufacturing, ENERGY STAR’s market-driven approach reduces peak load, lowers consumer bills, and frees grid capacity for future growth. https://t.co/dGUty7wX3a
We were proud to partner with @Semafor to host a timely conversation on grid reliability, resilience, and readiness for what’s next. Thank you to our speakers, including @ChristieFERC, @FERC Chairman, Aamir Paul, President of @SchneiderNA, @RepAuchincloss (D-MA), Member of @HouseCommerce, and @RepGuthrie (R-KY), Chair of @HouseCommerce. We’re excited to continue shaping the future of the U.S. grid alongside the policymakers, companies, and innovators who are powering it. Watch the recording here: https://t.co/hRla0TKC18
🟡 LIVE: Tune in now for a Principals Live discussion on powering our AI future, featuring interviews with @ChristieFERC, @RepGuthrie, @RepAuchincloss, and more.

At NEMA's Standards Summit, @WAustinGray of @wellcertified and NEMA's @toddbobsims discussed strategies for accelerating adoption of NEMA members' electrified, high-performance building technologies "Building experts are becoming the leaders in the future of work."
Thanks to all those at @USDA for their hard work on finalizing the adoption of a new baseline energy code and @SecVilsack for his leadership and kind note
USDA Secretary Vilsak recently commended NEMA for "improving the quality of housing for all" by supporting the agency's final determination on the adoption of the 2021 International Energy Conservation Code for USDA-assisted housing. Updated energy codes provide benefits to all Americans -- particularly low and medium-income households. Building codes keep energy bills low for American families, increase energy efficiency, and improve resilience in the face of increasing environmental stressors.
