I am deeply saddened by the sudden passing of Senator Lindsey Graham, a steadfast friend of the Iranian people and a proud defender of freedom.

At moments when moral clarity was required, Senator Graham stood on the right side. When friends were seldom found, he stood alongside the people of Iran in their struggle against tyranny.

He used his voice to ensure that the voices of those fighting for justice were heard in the halls of power. His support for Iran’s Lion and Sun Revolution earned him the title “Uncle Lindsey” among Iranians. He will be remembered with profound gratitude and deep respect.

An investigation into Trita Parsi has long been needed. He has operated in direct assistance to the Iranian regime arranging meetings with US officials for a previous Foreign Minister.

That was according to documents from Parsi's own organization.

If you are secretly lobbying for Iran while in the US on a green card you have stepped over the line. His actions as a whole have been actively counter to US strategic interests and supportive of Iran's.

Ban the IRGC soccer (football) team.

Football is supposed to unite people. That is what FIFA always says. But many Iranians around the world are asking a simple question today:

Why is the historical Lion and Sun flag being treated like something dangerous?

For millions of Iranians, that flag is not about violence or hate. It is not a weapon. It is part of a history that goes back thousands of years. It represents culture, identity, memory, language, family, and a connection to a homeland many people were forced to leave behind.

At the same time, many Iranians no longer believe the Islamic Republic’s national team represents them. After the mass killings of more than 40,000 and brutal crackdowns against peaceful protesters on January 8 and 9, 2026, many see the team as representing the regime, and IRGC, not the Iranian people.

This is why the debate has become bigger than football.

Around the world, especially in the U.S., millions of Iranians who escaped oppression do not see this team as their voice. Many are deeply uncomfortable watching a government accused of violence and repression appear on the world stage while the historical identity of the Iranian people is pushed aside.

People are also worried about tensions and security concerns surrounding the matches, especially after videos showing ideological chants, IRGC escorts, and political and violent symbolism connected to the regime. Many fear the World Cup could become politically charged in ways that go far beyond sport.

And yet, ordinary Iranians carrying the Lion and Sun flag peacefully are the ones being restricted.

People have the right to carry the symbols of their history and identity peacefully. There is a difference between supporting a civilization and supporting a government.

Countries have been banned from international sports before for political and human rights reasons. So it is not unreasonable for people to ask hard questions and requests now. “Ban the IRGC football team.”

This is not about hatred toward athletes or fans. It is about recognizing the difference between Iran, a nation with thousands of years of history, and a ruling regime many Iranians believe does not represent them.

Iran is not Islamic Republic, and football belongs to the people, not to governments.
