1) splitting of an atom’s nucleus. possibility of massive energy production, instead the Manhattan Project, which produced the first atomic bombs.

Tech is not moral or immoral. It magnifies the values of the people wielding it. The scientific method is about uncovering truth. Gov, corps, & individuals decide how to apply that truth. Often, the same discovery contains both salvation & destruction in its blueprint.
