@rakyll Classic RDS MAZ failover works by remounting the EBS drive from the old node on the new primary. This is slower than a hot failover, but leverages EBS-level replication. RDS MAZ Cluster adds MySQL-level replication on top and can do hot failovers (but for more $$$).

@0xcatwu For joining, you can try making a compound key with a formula (e.g. concatenate the values). For validation, I think the best method (for now) is also a formula field, plus a view or automation as needed.
