Many of us want to volunteer for #Harris2024, but not all of us are keen on putting ourselves into lots of face-to-face interactions - even with people we know.

@iproposethis I feel like so many parents give up on tweens/teens sharing and talking and chalk it up to the age. We may have lucked out with our kid or we made sharing easier?

@iproposethis A lot of it comes from Our Whole Lives -- I facilitate a secular version of the UUA-developed program for 7-9th graders. It's *amazing* for all kinds of reasons!

@iproposethis We talk about all of this before things happen — and often — because once things have happened it's often too late.

1. We work with 13 on a list of adults she can go to if she feels like she can't come to us.
2. We work to know her friends + make them feel welcome any time in our home.
2. We promise to never lead with anger if anyone is in a jam, help first.

Our brilliant alumni were all smiles yesterday for the first day of a new blue Virginia legislature!

Last year, we went ALL IN to help Dems win the Senate and flip the House blue.

We can't wait to see the progress this new legislature makes to keep Virginia moving forward.🌟
