@thereallsu777 Calling it an excuse is crazy talk. Lots of Kids want to be good at sports. Because people say you gotta make sports their life makes it not fun. 30% of youth athletes aren’t “taking the easy way out”
It’s super apparent that big money has gotten behind youth sports. I’ve been seeing a bunch of tweets that look like they’ve compensated, selling the virtues of playing travel sports when all the research suggests that you should play multiple sports and not specialize.
@thereallsu777 agree on physical development, but what about just having a good high school experience. Anecdotally my nephew was a “baseball player” until he wasn’t and now has a d1 track scholarship. Multi sport development is the way to go. Too much research says it leads to better outcomes
@thereallsu777 The data says that the highest performers play 2 or more sports through age 16-18.
More practice in sports is great, travel prioritizes games too much and leaves little to no time for physical development
@StrengthDebates I had 14 year old girls do them with 180 kg but couldn’t squat 90kg, felt like the time spent setting up and the almost unlimited amount of weight was counterproductive to good use of time.
dear apple, the iPod needs to come back. not for nostalgia. for the parents who want their kids to love music and audiobooks without a browser, social media, and the whole internet attached to it
The Texas Tech football program has removed all weights under 40 pounds from their weight room 🤔 💪
