Rep. Keating to Rubio: "I'm sure you're aware that Ukraine, country that at the time had third-largest nuclear arsenal, peacefully turned over their nuclear weapons in conjunction with Budapest Memorandum.
And in exchange for U.S. commitment to defend Ukraine if it ever came under threat. The U.S. gave its word to Ukraine that it would defend them.
And I find this amazing. In your opening remarks, as you took us all over the world and mentioned 15 different incidents where you have interceded — 15, the top 15 — not once did you mention Ukraine when you were prioritizing achievements that are there."
@J0HNDEEREYELL0W@kartoen@ZelenskyyUa Learn to read and do math lol. This shows that Europe has contributed almost twice as much as the usa. Close to 200 billion
@itsolelehmann I think it's the government's job to support the people displaced by AI in finding new careers. And tax heavily the larger profits from AI to pay for it. Business is about delivering innovation and cost savings, government is about social.
The Russians want Ukraine’s permission to hold their parade – so they can safely take to the square for an hour once a year, and then go back to killing *our* people and waging war. The Russians are already talking about strikes after May 9. A strange and certainly twisted logic from the Russian leadership.
There are also messages from some states close to Russia that their representatives intend to be in Moscow. An odd desire at a time like this. We do not recommend it.
“Looks like he (Zelenskyy) had a couple cards to play, 'cause Ukraine is actually winning against Russia” - Rep Adam smith (D-WA-9) - @RepAdamSmith
“And I'll close just by saying one of the other ironies of this, of course, is we have a great example in the world right now of what our strategy should be and where our values should be, and that's Ukraine. And I'm really curious. You know, here we are, we roll out the red carpet for Vladimir Putin. We belittle and insult President Zelenskyy in the White House. He has no cards, right? Well, here we are a year after that. Looks like he had a couple cards to play, 'cause Ukraine is actually winning against Russia. Ukraine, a sovereign democracy standing up against a brutal, oppressive, coercive dictatorship, and we can't even bring ourselves on a consistent basis to say, "We are with Ukraine, and we are against what Putin is doing," and stand up and support them. So I wanna see that strategy to meet the complex threat environment that we have”

@TokenOfTheMonth This. Sometimes there's a transition I want to do that requires more fingers than I have. Or ya know, I'm just not as athletic as some of the youngins
