A Japanese TV crew filmed an 89 year old retired Japan Meteorological Agency forecaster named Kitahara Masayuki for a feature on civil servants surviving on 500 yen a day. They followed him home. Small kitchen. Pension stub on the table showing 125,000 yen a month. He told the camera he had no savings and just wanted to stay healthy until 90.
NHK ran the segment for three nights straight. On the fourth morning a retired JMA forecaster in Hokkaido who had shared the typhoon desk with Kitahara in 1992 recognized the kitchen in the b roll. He sent one screenshot to his old shift group chat: timestamp 5:10.
Pause at 5:10. He has just opened the door for the TV crew. Ignore his face. Ignore the Buddhist altar in the corner. Look at the laptop screen on the side table by the front door.
That tab is not his pension statement. That is a live wallet.

He told the TV crew he had no savings. The wallet on his desk had been making his entire monthly pension every six hours. 7,935 entries on weather temperatures. Every entry green. Every entry a city the public forecast had not yet updated for.
Comments turned into a detective board. Someone slowed the clip to 0.25x. Someone else compared the timestamps on the pension stub to the wallet's trade history. A third guy pulled the wallet handle from the URL bar on the laptop screen.
The 125,000 yen pension stub on the table was the only paperwork he kept visible. The actual wallet was registered under his grandson's name. He had routed every payout through the kid since the day the agent went live.
The 500 yen a day food budget was what he spent at the konbini next to the Haneda pilot weather archive. He was already there twice a week to read the morning feeds. The real dinner was upstairs at his daughter's three nights a week.
The yellow shirt was the same yellow JMA used on its typhoon advisory chart. He had been the senior forecaster who selected that shade in 1989. He wore it for the interview because the TV crew would not recognize the color.
Six months ago a 14 year old in Shenzhen pushed an AI agent to GitHub. Judges said no real world application. 3,100 forks later. His grandson had been one of them. The grandson dropped the fork on his grandfather's laptop as a retirement project. The grandfather had wired it into the same pilot weather feeds JMA had stopped staffing in October.
He had spent forty years inside the Japan Meteorological Agency. Two decades he had written the public temperature forecast for Tokyo, Sapporo, and Fukuoka every morning. He knew where the pilot feeds beat the public forecast by three hours. When JMA replaced its forecast desk with AI in October he was already retired. The agent on his desk was already monetizing the gap.
He was not a Japanese pensioner surviving on 125,000 yen a month. He was the forecaster who had written Japan's public weather for forty years and quietly built a wallet on the gap between the forecast he had stopped writing and the data he could still read.
The TV segment is at 2.6 million views. The zoom on the laptop got another 1.7 million. The Japanese audience is still sharing the segment. Still pitying. Still saving on their own food budgets. The wallet is still compounding. The agent is still reading pilot feeds. The yellow shirt is still in the closet.
He had written the forecast for forty years. He spent one afternoon convincing Japan he had forgotten how to read it.
This guy used Claude to build a Quant Bot and made +$589,139 on Polymarket
25,388 predictions with a 63% win rate in 77 days
That comes out to roughly $7,651 in profit per day and almost 14 trades per hour
With $217K in deposits, he is now up 2.7x, which is about +271.5% ROI
The bot strategy is simple:
It finds markets where the pricing is still off,
gets in before the odds fully catch up,
and repeats the same setup again and again across many entries.
The edge on each trade is small, but scale and repetition turn it into a massive result
Most profitable trades:
$17,839 → $36,318 (+$18,478, +103.58%)
$3,112 → $15,011 (+$11,898, +382.22%)
$10,676 → $22,178 (+$11,502, +107.74%)
What makes it work is not one huge trade. It is the same small advantage, applied fast, applied often, and repeated until the pricing gap is gone

"Bucket shops" were illegal stock betting parlors where you wouldn't buy real shares, you just bet on the price going up/down using the ticker

New defi Ponzi coming to BSC
TLDR 🤠:
• Main token is $GOLD. To buy it, you gotta stake 10% of the USD value of your buy amount in USDT at minimum
• Every 6 hours interval (at a random time in the interval), a "raid" occurs where 10% of the global staked USDT is used to buy GOLD and redistribute it to holders
• If you're unable to meet the 10% USDT stake threshold (ie GOLD price pumps), your GOLD + USDT is taken away by the protocol for liquidity + buy backs. Fortunately you can overcollaterize your USDT with a buffer (which doesn't get slashed by the 6 hr raid)
• You can't market sell your GOLD, you must enter a TWAP sell with a fee (50% 1h delay fee -> 0% 24h delay fee, or anything in between)
As you can see, traditional ERC20 AMM buys & sells won't work here, so their team has built a custom AMM and system here
Lot of OHM inspired themes here, with a (3,3) style coordination leading to optimal outcomes, similarities to lending markets and also Punk Strategy too. Feels like one of those games like addicted dot fun where getting in as early as possible is the strat.
The stake to buy & USDT slashing mechanics are very interesting and never seen done before. Looks like a very seasoned defi team is building this. I think the market will appreciate the amount of effort and creativity put into this ponzi.
