The idea of an intelligence explosion caused by recursive self improvement has been around for a long time but until very recently it did not seem imminent. Now many leading researchers think it may happen quite soon. You can read our paper about it here:

@SuJinyan6 I agree we should stop AI slop, but in the current environment, it’s not really feasible. Many people don’t even read or check AI-generated code. If you stay ethical you may lose competitiveness in the job market to people with lots of AI made projects and papers on their resume
😊 I also just uploaded a new version of the lecture notes. https://t.co/bpIvdgG8KO (it's still, and perhaps will always be work-in-progress, given the field is moving fast. Any mistakes are mine :) and any feedback is more than welcome :).
We've added to the website a free PDF of the Bayesian Workflow book (for non-commercial purposes, like research and exorcism). We put so much work into this book, hope you all find value in it. https://t.co/f472XjM6cf
Part 3 in my series on population genetics: In this video I try to give viewers an intuitive understanding of FST via a little game I call "guess the gamete"
Half of people with heart disease first find out after a heart attack. What if we could see risk years earlier using MRI, genetics, and blood tests? We introduce preCog, a multimodal AI for preventive cardiology trained on >500k images and genetic data from 1.25M individuals.
Scoliosis is the most common spinal deformity, but its genetic causes are still unclear. Using AI to measure spinal curves in 57,887 people, we discovered 2 novel genetic risk loci - showing how deep learning can unlock insights into musculoskeletal health https://t.co/sTlTTm5cxx
What did family trees look like in prehistory? Ancient DNA now lets us sample hundreds of people from a site, but pedigrees have been difficult to reconstruct. Our new tool “repare” finally enables automatic ancient pedigree reconstruction… more in the replies! ⬇️
Thrilled to share that the first project from my PhD is now published in Science (@ScienceMagazine)! 🎉
We studied the genetic architecture of and evolutionary constraints on the human pelvic form.

I am thrilled to share one of the most important projects from my PhD! We developed the method JOBS (JOint model of Bk-eQTLs as a weighted sum of Sc-eQTLs) and applied it to blood bulk (eQTLGen) and sc-eQTL (OneK1K). 1/3
My first textbook is officially available for pre-order today. Grab a copy if you're interested in developing a (statistical) research-oriented mindset. The book is designed as a stepping stone from statistical coursework to novel statistical research.

Last year, I joined DeepSeek with no RL experience. While conducting Mathshepherd and DeepSeekMath research, I independently derived this unified formula to understand various training methods. It felt like an "aha moment", though I later realized it was PG.
