Extraordinary words were spoken during the Jericho prayer organized by the Catholic Church of Burundi, revealing the gravity of the problems facing the country.

“God created Burundi as a beautiful country, but today it is no longer beautiful. What has happened to Burundi? All these problems you see affecting Burundi were put there by Satan. People in the highest levels of government have accepted Satan and are working with him.

So we are going to pray to God, saying: God, in this beautiful country, Satan came and built walls separating us from You. We ask You to tear down these walls.

There was a country approaching elections. The head of state wanted to remain in power, doing everything possible to continue ruling. He did not want genuine elections; instead, he wanted to continue governing the country.

The Charismatics I had taught immediately held the Jericho prayer. Look at what happened: shortly afterward, another head of state came to power.

When I went to the country of Peru, the head of state was in serious conflict with the Catholic Church. We held the Jericho prayer. After just one week, the Peruvian Parliament removed that head of state from power, and he was taken to prison.”

The message is powerful: These are words that should make the leadership of Burundi reflect on the direction the country is taking. When leaders are accused of accepting Satan and working with him, as stated during this prayer, it is a sign that there are serious problems of governance and relations between the leadership and the people that must be addressed.

🔴 The Burundian army has abandoned its senior officers! Because they are Tutsis, that is why they have been accused of fabricated charges claiming that they are Rwandan spies.

Today, it has been one month and one week since two Burundian senior officers who were fighting in the DRC, Major Jérémie Nitunga and Captain Félicien Kanjori, were arrested by FARDC soldiers who suspected them of being Rwandan spies, and then taken to Kinshasa to be imprisoned.

Information we obtain from the Burundian army headquarters states the following:

1. It is true that Major Nitunga and Captain Kanjori are detained in Kinshasa. What their colleagues were told, that they were at the Burundian Embassy, is not true. They are detained.

2. The Burundian army is waiting for them to be tried. If they are convicted and sentenced, the army will immediately stop their salaries.

3. Those working at the Etat-Major Général of the FDNB were also shocked to see the army leaders abandon Burundian senior officers. They told us that they believe the Burundian authorities and the army have now become like servants of the DRC, which is why they say nothing. They all say that this situation is a disgrace for Burundi.

🔴 The DRC often sentences to death soldiers whom it accuses of treason on the battlefield. Such a punishment is not permitted in Burundi. Major Nitunga and Captain Kanjori were on a mission to which they had been sent by Burundi in a country that has friendly relations with Burundi. They were arrested while carrying out their duties. If they committed any offence, it is the Burundian military court that should try them.

What is happening to these senior officers is another sign that the Burundian army has been sold to the DRC. Congo treats them as mercenaries it has purchased, rather than as soldiers of an independent country.

President Ndayishimiye, Minister Nijimbere, General Niyongabo, this is now a serious betrayal you have committed against Burundi.
