I could really use the MLK bike lane to get from Rainier Valley to downtown/cap hill without going over the Mt Baker Hill. Any update on timing? @Spottnik@SNGreenways@seabikeblog
This week's extreme heat is a reminder that access to electricity and water is vital to life.
That's why we passed #HB1329, which prevents utility shutoffs for nonpayment during extreme heat. We cannot take away critical lifelines just because someone missed a bill.
@Spottnik Would prefer something temporary get built this summer. It doesn’t matter where or how bad, as long as it connects the two sections. Just build something now. Then finish public engagement, make a final decision, and build something permanent.
@jonathan_miner@finchfrii The board still hasn’t made a final decision on the alignment through downtown. Inability to make a decision is a big problem here.
@wsdot Next year, why not make the weekend before opening to cars an officially sanctioned and publicized event for cyclists and pedestrians? The ‘transit’ in your name means more than cars, and you would get a ton of positive publicity from such an event.
@core2idiot@asher_971@Spottnik@seattledot Wouldn’t want my kid riding alone on LWB if cars are going 20. If there no dedicated space without cars, it’s not all ages/all abilities.
Know an attorney passionate about the clean energy transition and making sure we protect the most vulnerable along the way? My firm is looking to hire an associate. Please distribute.

According to an SDOT's speed study done between December 13 and 19th the average speed on Lake Washington Boulevard at Horton is 32MPH with a max speed of 86mph. LWB is designed as a dangerous race course. It's only a matter of time before someone dies on the street.
The American Gas Association is fighting electrification efforts across the country
One way it does that is by advising their members, gas utilities, to set up front groups
“Build a local and/or state consumer coalition to serve as the spokesperson for the natural gas industry”
Privatizing critical services by having nonprofits do what government should be doing has been a growing disaster for half a century. The state and feds need to step up and play bigger and more effective roles in the behavioral health space.

We want action to protect our neighbors.
Attached is a map of crashes (based on @typewriteralley's reporting) that have occurred to people in the Rainier Valley since the start of @seattledot's #VizionZero 90-day review. We cannot wait any longer for safe streets.
@SNGreenways
@KromanDavid Yes but was the building just standing there in the dark? Was it not wearing appropriate reflective clothing? Why was the building so close to the road?
There is PLENTY of space here for a waterfront trail to coexist with the @PortofSeattle cruise ship terminal.
When we finally build this world class trail, connecting the Elliot Bay Trail to the downtown waterfront promenade, it will be the most popular trail in the state.
