@KarlBode I agree, this will lead to AT&T jacking up the rates of those companies who aren’t in an alliance with them. Making a neutral market even more difficult.
@alexissmeier Amen. Our online connections will always have a superficial aspect to them. Social media should only be used as a means to create in person relationships. Not the end.
@mchris929 True. Since social media is something that can be controlled though to some degree, do you think more regulations to restrict the bad should be applied?
@kylie_rowley @Marissa03931954 Great point Kylie! I’m a realist as well and think that humans need to be educated on social media before they can use it.
@Becks_42@DeuelPaige This is a great conversation 👍 I believe that “friends” can be made via social media but I’ve found that lasting relationships come from more than just online interaction. So it depends on kinda of “friends” you want to have. Any thoughts?
@jfro202 Great example. I’m a realist as well. But I feel like the use of social media is giving us information without communication face-to-face. I love that but I’ve noticed my own interpersonal skills begin to fade. Any thoughts on this idea?
@kylie_rowley What is your opinion on this idea? I understand it’s based if intentions but don’t you think good people can be exposed to bad things just because they are on social media? Which could lead to harm.
@jfro202 @kasslikesdal I love your response because it’s based on experience or I think it is. All of these answers are purely based on how we’ve reacted to social media. I believe it’s different for everyone because we were all raised in different environments.
I see through a realist lens. I’m really close to seeing through a pessimistic lens though. Social media is a great tool, but it has been tainted with false information for so long. Social media is a double edged sword. If you chose to use it you get both good and bad #COMM3120
