Today 30 March 2026, 12 years old child Pacifique Kadafi, son of Kadafi Banyamulenge tribe from Abasita clan was killed in a drone attack in Minembwe, Gakenke village by FARDC and it coalition (local sources).

This is a part of a continuing violence that has turned the daily lives of Banyamulenge civilians into a constant struggle for survival.

Children should be in playing, dreaming about their future not becoming victims of conflict and targeted attacks.
The silence from the international community is deeply concerning. How many more innocent lives must be lost before meaningful attention and action are taken? The people of Minembwe are enduring immense suffering, displacement, and fear.

At the sidelines of the Feb. 10th’ hearing of the House Foreign Affairs Africa Subcommittee @HouseForeignGOP, Mahoro Peace Association (MPA) met in person and individually with key Subcommittee members, voicing deepest concerns over DRC government bombings using fighters and drones on the vulnerable Banyamulenge minority in Minembwe’s highlands, causing unimaginable suffering, displacement, and loss of life.

We also highlighted the devastating humanitarian blockade imposed by DRC forces, Burundian troops, and allied militias, which has cut off food, medicine, and basic supplies, leading to deliberate starvation and a silent genocide against the Tutsi minority.

An urgent humanitarian corridor is desperately needed to deliver life-saving aid and prevent further catastrophe.

Though absent from the Washington accords, we briefed the subcommittee on their plight. As the chairman noted the Kisangani airport bombing, it was a poignant moment to address similar atrocities in Minembwe.

Members pledged follow-up on these critical issues, including the blockade and aid access. A memo was submitted prior to amplify these urgent cries for justice.
