@1rez1s ~$5m a month is a lot to outburn, no argument, but the other side is JTX burn grows with volume - it's a market share problem, and if they win share the unlock stops mattering
been accumulating $JTO since december 2025.
jito has said no to money twice. suspended the block engine mempool in march 2024, the same week solana MEV tips printed an all time high, then cut the extractive flows out with BAM. if what you sell makes big traders route around you, that isn't a business, it's a tax.
which is why JTX matters. selling blockspace means you take whatever the market pays that day. if traders want to sit in your front end, you set the fee. and the incumbents give holders nothing, axiom did $300m in revenue with no token.
80% of JTX fees go to the DAO, all of it buys $JTO on the open market and burns it, and JIP-38 blocks diverting that until Q4 2027. compare $SKY, which voted in march to cut its daily buyback from $300k to $38k because the backstop looked thin. one bad quarter, one vote.
credit to the @jito team. suspending the mempool cost them a live revenue line at its peak and they did it anyway.
@DefiIgnas AI has just as many assets, they're just private. thousands of startups funded, retail sees 30 tickers. crypto didn't overprint assets, it deleted the wall between seed rounds and the public tape. every launch is a pre-seed deal quoted next to BTC on the same screen
@kashdhanda needed this one, thanks.
proof of work only compounds if you'd build it anyway. my dotfiles repo has years of commits because i break my own setup weekly and have to fix it.
everything i built to look good in a portfolio is unmaintained.
@votesa most people optimize the fee they can see and ignore the one they can't. 1% bot fee is $10k per $1m, bad fills on non-lliquid launchpad tokens can be multiples of that. cashback tier is the easy win, execution quality is the real test
@lopp length isn't entropy though
coldcard seeds were 24 words too, they just had 32 bits behind them. you can't see that from the outside unless u rolled it yourself
@waleswoosh vendor bug is real but it's the rarest thing, 2-of-3 across brands closes it.
but whatever setup you pick, you're still in it, seed handling, phishing. and the more complex the setup gets, the more likely you eventually cut a corner somewhere and back the seed up in a google doc
