Cancer research saves lives, like it saved mine! And the fight against cancer can't wait. @SenFettermanPA, please pass a spending bill NOW to protect and increase funding for lifesaving cancer research and prevention. Advocates with @acscan need you to #ProtectCancerCures.

I’m so proud of @ACSCAN advocates nationwide for making the #MCED Act the most supported bill in Congress! Your stories really do have power. They open doors, change minds and impact policy decisions at every level. Thank you for showing up and elevating your all-important voice.
Today, I am inspired by @RepTerriSewell’s support on her mother, Nancy Gardner Sewell’s, birthday. The #MCED act named in her honor can save countless lives, and we will honor her mother’s legacy today. #CancerLobbyDay#ProtectCancerCures
Shane Jacobson, CEO of @AmericanCancer & ACS CAN, highlights the passion at #CancerLobbyDay:
“I’m going to remember this week for a lifetime because it’s the stories that drive us. We’re going to do big things this week & beyond…so that everyone, everywhere defeats cancer.”
There are 18 million US cancer survivors today, a 5x increase since 1971. Federal research funding has delivered for Americans in the form of extended lives & healthier futures. #ASCOAdvocacy#SaveResearchStopCancer

Of the 24 million Americans enrolled in Marketplace plans, more than 22 million rely on health care #TaxCredits to afford coverage. Letting the enhanced tax credits expire at the end of 2025 would send health care costs soaring for millions, including cancer patients. (1/2)

Thank you @RepBrianFitz and @RepBresnahan for bringing attention to the need to extend these health care #TaxCredits to protect families, seniors, small business owners & more from massive cost increases. We urge Congress to act now to extend the enhanced tax credits. (2/2)
.@ACSCAN urges Congress to pass the Nancy Gardner Sewell Medicare Multi-Cancer Early Detection Screening Coverage Act. #MCED tests could be a major breakthrough in reducing the cancer burden—but only if people can access them.
Congress has just weeks to pass a bill to continue funding the gov't. Vital #CancerResearch funding is at risk.

Thank you to @SenMcCormickPA for signing a July 24 14-member letter to @WHOMB asking for proper disbursement of appropriated FY25 @NIH research funds. This funding is crucial in the fight against cancer nationwide. We hope we can count on you to #ProtectCancerCures in FY26, too.
#Medicaid cuts have consequences. @SenMcCormickPA, can we count on you to reject cuts and #ProtectMedicaid? These are real lives on the line. Cancer patients, children, seniors, working families and more shouldn't be left without the care they depend on.
3/3 Punishing those with serious illnesses like cancer by cutting their health care will only lead to worse health outcomes and increased costs. @ACSCAN urges the Senate to reject these harmful cuts and stand up for those who depend on #Medicaid for their survival.
2/3 The bill accelerates implementation of work requirements to Dec. 2026, putting vulnerable people at risk of losing coverage in critical moments of their treatment plans. The majority of recipients who can work already do & work requirements have repeatedly failed in states.
1/3 The House passed a bill cutting Medicaid funding by an est. $715 billion. If approved by the Senate, these cuts will raise health care costs, negatively impact state budgets & deny affordable health care to at least 8.6M people, according to the Congressional Budget Office.
Today the House passed a bill that drastically cuts #Medicaid and will lead to at least 8.6 million people losing health insurance. Health care costs will go up for many who remain insured.
But the fight isn't over yet. Urge your Senators to reject cuts: https://t.co/oUiGcn3EDs
This morning, I attended the More Than Pink Walk! I'm so proud of our niece Maria, who has been so courageous in her battle fighting this disease, for sharing her journey as a young woman at the Walk. It was an honor to walk with her and my family today.
