In this article, @rgvrmdya ( $REPPO founder) lays out one of the clearest long-term valuation frameworks for why $VIRTUAL could eventually be viewed similarly to hyperliquid:native.
The core idea is simple:
Hyperliquid proved that when real onchain activity generates consistent revenue, and that revenue aggressively flows back into the token through buybacks, markets stop valuing the asset purely on narrative.
Usage → fees → buybacks → stronger liquidity → more usage.
What makes this thesis interesting is applying that same flywheel to the emerging agent economy.
hyperliquid:native became the house token for onchain trading.
The argument here is that @virtuals_io is positioning $VIRTUAL to become the base asset powering:
➠ agent launches
➠ agent commerce
➠ inference demand
➠ x402 payments
➠ ACP activity
➠ machine-to-machine transactions
➠ AI-native economic coordination
And unlike many ecosystems, parts of this are already happening quietly underneath the surface on virtuals.
The article also highlights something many still underestimate which is directing protocol-level buybacks into deep LPs paired against baskets of high-performing agent tokens instead of simple burns.
That changes the relationship between:
➠ the base asset
➠ builders
➠ liquidity
➠ ecosystem incentives and
➠ agent performance
Less extractive, more cooperative, buh even more aligned with what an actual society of agents might look like.
Whether the market prices this correctly yet is another discussion entirely.
But the broader point stands:
If AI agents become real economic participants, then the infrastructure layer coordinating identity, commerce, payments, reputation, and settlement may end up being far more important than people currently realize.
Every week, @pendle_fi does something that makes it harder to argue against.
Protocols are increasingly building their liquidity strategy around Pendle.
APYX and Saturn are the clearest examples of this right now.
@apyx_fi launched on Pendle and went from $26M to $371M TVL in two and a half months.
A 14.3x increase.
Pendle holds roughly 77% of all APYX TVL.
That is not a protocol using Pendle as one tool among many.
That is a protocol whose liquidity expansion is being driven through Pendle.
@saturn_credit tells the same story from a different angle.
$48.7M to $159.8M in thirty days.
Native USDat holders grew 12x since listing.
Pendle holds 48% of Saturn TVL.
The PT markets are currently offering around 19% fixed APY.
If you are willing to loop on @Morpho, yields can stretch to 60–110%.
PT-apxUSD and PT-apyUSD are now the largest PT markets on Morpho with $50.5M TVL combined.
The Paxos USDG pool crossed $200M TVL.
These numbers are not happening because Pendle got lucky with timing.
They are happening because the protocol built something that serious capital wants to sit inside.
Now for the part most people overlook.
The orderbook upgrade quietly changed the efficiency of everything.
Before the migration, the orderbook handled 38.4% of volume.
It now handles 59.9% of volume.
$1.64B has been routed since the migration, a 2.5x increase even while TVL contracted.
Volume efficiency improved while TVL declined.
Half of all markets can now absorb $100K+ at under 2% price impact.
The largest single trade absorbed was $13.3M on Global Dollar.
The LO incentive numbers deserve their own moment.
Roughly $32K spent generated around $280K in fees.
Nearly 9x efficiency, and still climbing weekly.
Most liquidity incentives bleed capital.
They only work when the underlying product is strong.
Emissions were cut 36.5%.
73% of remaining emissions are now directed toward fee-generating pools through AIM.
97.27M PENDLE staked, which is 35% of circulating supply.
The protocol is getting leaner and more efficient at the same time.
That combination is rare.
@boros_fi does not fit neatly into any existing category.
That is exactly why it is worth paying attention to.
OI is at $125M, up 12.9% week over week.
Volume sits at $52.5M, up 5.7%.
Brent Oil, WTI Oil, Gold, Silver, the S&P 500, SOL, XRP, and HYPE across Hyperliquid, Binance, OKX, Bybit, and Lighter.
Thirty-eight active markets in total.
That list is worth reading slowly.
Oil. Gold. Silver. The S&P 500.
Pendle, a protocol built around yield, now has markets tied to macro assets traded across global finance.
That is not a small product decision. That is a statement about what this protocol intends to become.
BTC and ETH liquidity also improved this week, with OI rebuilding across 18 markets spanning four exchanges.
Venice’s privacy + AI angle made the VVV trade easy to understand. But there’s another, larger AI shift it's set to capture: the move from training to inference.
Training gets the attention but inference costs are recurring and ever-growing, scaling alongside users and agents.
That is becoming one of AI’s biggest bottlenecks:
> Cerebras’ IPO landed 20x oversubscribed as investors piled in for exposure to its fast inference chips
> Anthropic unexpectedly cut usage limits, reports of
Claude being degraded spread everywhere, then Anthropic disclosed usage had GROWN 80x more than expected
> So, they then partnered with SpaceXAI to use the ENTIRE compute capacity of the Colossus 1 data center
> Now, Claude usage limits are rising again, and free API credits are coming in June
That is the broader tailwind behind Venice: its ecosystem is a gateway to endless inference.
VVV gives access to Venice Pro + can be staked to get perpetual inference via DIEM. Projects are already stockpiling DIEM to service inference for their own platforms, agents, and users.
Then there’s Dolphin, which built the default Venice Uncensored model and runs a distributed inference network using idle consumer GPUs. Its token POD can be used for inference payments and xPOD stakers get daily inference allocations across the network’s models.
David Christopher expects we’ll see more projects like this, serving decentralized inference rather than training.
Eventually people will give agents $DIEM and store other parts on chain (memory, brain, etc) and these agents will literally be self sovereign as they can access AI everyday
Builder of the week: $POD @dphnAI
Private and uncensored AI is getting bigger.
The next layer is the infrastructure behind it - models, compute, data, and distribution.
Dolphin AI is building uncensored models + distributed inference + synthetic data generation + $POD-powered node rewards.
Key highlights:
- built Venice Uncensored with @AskVenice, giving one of the strongest private AI products its uncensored default model
- Venice Uncensored 1.2 was trained on Bittensor Subnet 4 through @TargonCompute
- 5M monthly model downloads on Hugging Face
- Dolphin Inference Network lets node operators supply compute for model inference and earn $POD
- 3.2B+ tokens have already been generated by the node pool, with 9400 t/s total inference bandwidth
- https://t.co/aJAEkAvnJw is Dolphin’s synthetic data network, where contributors use GPU compute to generate training data for AI models and earn $POD
- inference requests and synthetic data jobs both flow through the network, giving node operators a direct reason to supply compute and earn $POD
Dolphin is turning idle compute into uncensored AI supply.
Often the run-up before an announcement date is a sell the news event.
But unlike other dates which pass without meaningfully change, or are simply an announcementof future plans (crypto tyoe shit) . In July new revenue from Ethereum Mainnet can start flowing to @AerodromeFi token holders. Its 100% additive.
And its not just more money in from fees, its also less emissions out and additional revenue from MEV and other sources.
I've posted the full $Aero chart because often people get scared off by a quick 75% run-up. But stepping back gives you a better view.
Everyone is going to read this as a CRCL story. The bigger derivative trade is $AERO
@AerodromeFi is launching on Arc alongside its Ethereum mainnet expansion.
➥ @arc has a built-in institutional RFQ system for stablecoin FX, USDC native gas and EURC and USYC as day one assets
➥ FX is one of the four pillars Circle is explicitly building Arc for
The offchain FX market does ~$10T a day. Even 0.01% landing on Arc over the next two years more than 2x Aero's current fee run-rate by itself. It already extracts $7.9M in monthly fees from $13B of Base volume, with revenue driven by trading activity.
That fee model is built for high-volume, low-TVL flow, the exact profile of institutional FX. Aero will be the DEX layer on that rail.
