Yes and no. They will want to be in the 'best' states for all the things that matter to them. Available subsidies will only be one of the factors they bear in mind. In this case, it is more local than that - we know that Texas is a state they already favour, and this is a community in Texas they are looking at.
@CJCHowarth@DrSuneelDhand No, it was because he was a weappons obsessed young man. He had already been accused of attempting to steal daggers from his his local Sikh temple (Gurdwara) in Southampton, UK, in 2023.
@MatEick@SawyerMerritt This simple answer is that it does not 'need' tax breaks, but it will always try to get them if they are available. Anything else would be not working to the best advantage of their shareholders and employees.
Transgender people have exactly the same rights as the rest of us. As, indeed, they should. What they do not have, and never did have, despite the way they were treated since 2010, was extra rights, including the right to enter femal only spaces. If those are the rights you are suggesting they have lost, you are dead wrong.
Yes a one-off from a monster.
But no to the 'no larger relevance'. The larger relevance is down to the police behaviour. It may have made no difference to whether Nowak would have survived, but the next time, it might. That needs to be worked through.
One thing that does need to be stressed is that the kirpan was not used. I have seen people jumping up and down saying that the religeous 'pass' that sikhs have to allow them to carry the kirpan should be removed. That would be overkill here. The knife he used to kill Nowak was not his kirpan.
@marte84918@tompfoster The sikh community here in the UK are certainly considered to be decent people. Note that the community have come out and made statements about stuff, in a way that other communities have never done.
@tompfoster@bobwilliams208 Yet said judge only gave him 21 years as a minimum life sentence. I don't get that. There seem to be lots of factors making the crime worse than "they got in a fight and one had a knife and the other didn't".
@DavidSi27016985@NadiaWhittomeMP Yet there must be people in Labour that can count, at least a little bit. Not wanting to lose the trans vote I can understand. Doing stuff to not lose the trans vote that loses them a non-trivial proportion of women (and some men) would be stupid.
