Congratulations @patnaiKarishma for delivering a wonderful dissertation talk! Thank you all for joining in person and online. Karishma made excellent contributions to design, control, and planning of morphing and collision-resilient drones. She is #6 PhD graduate from our lab!
After an exciting mid-summer in Bermuda, our autonomous robotic boat was back in action at Tempe Town Lake this morning. Through fall, we will map and monitor bathymetry, and a few other properties. Thanks @RodneyStaggers1, @AdhithAravind, and Yash Sethwala! @ASU_GDCS@SESEASU
Doing a "pre-game workout" with the Roboboat. Later, it's going on fully autonomous mission with scanning imaging sonar, onboard Intel NUC, and camera (for bathymetry and 3D mapping) to study coral reefs. #RobotsinBermuda@SESEASU@ASU_GDCS@NASA@NSF@ASUCollegeofGF@jd_knight
Last week, I drove my lab's autonomous surface vessel near North Rock, Bermuda. FIRST TRIP in any ocean. Boat had a trial by water with 19kph winds, but it passed with flying colors! Even let the kids manually drive it. Got aerial shots from a Mavic 2 Air #drone. #RobotsinBermuda
After recovering from the amazing "Innovations for the Environment" camp, I noticed that I had great videos/pictures of the participants messing with #RobotsinBermuda. It was a fun time for everyone involved! Stay tuned!
