@DavidMoffatVC@jasonlk I see a lot of Seed funds reserve ~30-40% for reserve.
That could very quickly become a concentrated Seed fund if you were writing checks at that size (sure recycling can solve some of this).

Although GPs, even good ones, can find ways to make exceptions.
Youโre absolutely seeing this at Seed today where massive funds are writing smaller checks into early rounds. I think this will start to taper off as Series A+ continues to rebound but Seed has been crowded.
@jbwill910@jasonlk Most early stage funds target 30-40 investments out of a vintage minimum. Otherwise itโs too concentrated given the inherent risk profile of the stage.
If youโre raising a $20M fund, youโre not a lead candidate (unless youโre very bold and run a very concentrated strat).
@HarryStebbings You should have an array of guest types. i.e. Fintech founder, AI founder, VC, public equities, etc. And then ask them similar questions
It can be intimidating putting yourself out there for everyone to judge on social media.
@NWischoff is an inspiration and truly the gold standard of putting out useful, thoughtful content and leveraging her platform to bring everyone up around her.
The proof is there๐

@nunzi46 Does the software vs. hardware centricity of a business impact your investment decisions in terms of how you view capital efficiency?
Awesome to hear though!
@altcap@PaulBuser @buhrman_rick @patrick_oshag What do you think the right portfolio size is then?
Also curious - do you find public Chinese equities interesting if youโre in $BYTE? i.e. $BABA $JD $TCHEY etc.?
Theyโre all trading dirt cheap, largely due to US-China relations and concerns.
@flyosity Theyโll be fine. They basically just got $1B in non-dilutive capital from a competitor now.
Phenomenal product and team - theyโll keep winning.
