Bank employees are implementing Government schemes as per policy and guidelines—not framing them. Yet, across Maharashtra, officers and staff are being abused, threatened and even assaulted during implementation. This is completely unacceptable.
We demand the Government of Maharashtra to ensure:
✅ Immediate police protection for vulnerable bank branches.
✅ Zero tolerance against threats and assaults on bank employees.
✅ Strict legal action against those attacking public servants while discharging their duties.
Protect the people who serve the nation and deliver welfare schemes. Safety at the workplace is a fundamental right.

Five-Day Banking is a productivity reform, not a welfare measure. Concentrated working days lead to sharper focus, better planning, and improved execution. Globally, institutions that moved to 5-day workweeks report higher efficiency per employee. Stronger productivity directly benefits banks’ balance sheets and service delivery.
Key updates from recent developments on CLC meeting with UFBU and IBA
Talks failed to reach a settlement on the 5 day banking demand.
The meeting was adjourned, with another round held or scheduled for Jan 23, 2026 (around 3:30 PM in some reports).
The proposed nationwide bank strike by UFBU (United Forum of Bank Unions) on January 27, 2026 remains unchanged banks are expected to stay closed that day, impacting services.
This involves nearly 8 lakh bank employees/officers pushing for better work life balance, aligning with practices in RBI/government offices.
No major breakthrough reported yet government/DFS pushback and management pressures on senior officers noted in discussions.

Today there is no conciliation meeting between UFBU and IBA and DFS on 27 jan 2026 strike .
So prepare for demonstration on strike day and hit the streets and rodas in full strength all over the country .
All 8 lakh plus should be on the road on strike day .
PMO is in not in a hurry to honour our bipartite and joint note agreement on full 5 days banking week.
Now i can say that our strike of 9th Oct was successful.
Our aim with that strike was to push #UFBU for strike and finally its going to happen.
I am not saying all this for credits.. But since humare members ka paisa kata tha they deserve bit praise. 💙

To all our unions and members : a conciliation meeting continued today also. But, there was no positive outcome. Hence the 27th Jan strike stands. Go ahead and make it a total success. UFBU/23.1.2026.

In lieu of 28 Saturday off in a year bankers have proposed and agreed to work 10000 minutes extra in a year .
Still government not honouring bipartite and joint note agreement dated 08/03/24 .
27 /01/26 strike is forced upon us by the government going back on its own commitment.
Policy makers talk about productivity while forcing burnout on bank employees. Hypocrisy won’t run a modern economy. Act with responsibility. Approve the 5-day banking week.

#BankStrike
For one day strike on 27 jan 2026 bank employees will sacrifice more than 500 cr of their salary .
So this strike is our majboori
Which government has forced upon us .
5 days banking week is our right .
And ham lad ke lenge
Mahine me do Saturday ke kaam se azadi .
#Implement5DayBanking#StopPrivatizationofIDBI
Divesting a profitable bank is a misguided move that weakens national assets and identity.
In parallel, adopting a #5DaysBanking week is necessary due to growing digital transactions and mounting pressure on banking operations
