@JeffDean@robleathern This is all nice and good but Google but the whole venture is funded by people clicking ads - LLM is designed to eliminate that ? So who will pay the bills ? No matter what Google will not dominate LLM space the way it did search . But sure let’s be happy that it beat chatgpt 4
@SenTomCotton So is it justified to ask someone if they are a member of the communist party bc they worked for a company that was designated CCMC for a few months and then subsequently removed from the list ? Only if you are seeking political points with a base that you know isn’t checking
@SenTomCotton The company Sen is referring to is Xiaomi - The US issued the CCMC designation on January 14th, in the final week of the Trump adm. Xiaomi sued - Fed Judge ruled it was “arbitrary and capricious”. DOD reversed itself- but Cotton knew all this but justified asking it anyway.

Probably my top 3 favorite books of all time
One of my biggest takeaways is to play infinite games with infinite people. That’s the way to win long-term
The book’s a whole treasure chest of wealth, happiness, and philosophy.
This Thanksgiving, here's something to be thankful for: The End of History and the Last Man by Francis Fukuyama. Despite being one of the most debated books of the last half century, few have actually read it! A shame, considering it’s one of the great books of our time.
How I'm measuring my V02 max:
The best way to measure V02 max is doing it through a lab that tests it.
The next best way is to use the Cooper Test:

My training schedule:

Friday - Weights & zone 2
Saturday - 4x4 intervals

As I'm doing this I'm using progressive overload to increase speed & distance.
@parvanaaksoy @G_Faterunner@301arm In the first Karabakh war Armenians stopped destroying Azeri tanks bc they realized how quickly Azeris run away - Azeris needed to import Chechen fighters bc they could not fight themselves
@parvanaaksoy @G_Faterunner@301arm 100,000 Armenian defeated 6 million Azeris for 30 years - and when the oil runs out and Azeri main source of income will be tomatoes - Armenians will be back - bc everyone knows Azeris can’t fight - just buy weapons
Neal Ascherson writes about 1848, and ‘the staggering speed with which the flame spread from country to country, in an age before phone or radio, as if the masses had only been waiting for a signal top our into the streets and head for the palaces.’

Freeman Dyson has expressed some thoughts on craziness. In a Scientific American article called "Innovation in Physics," he began by quoting Niels Bohr. Bohr had been in attendance at a lecture in which Wolfgang Pauli proposed a new theory of elementary particles. Pauli came under heavy criticism, which Bohr summed up for him: "We are all agreed that your theory is crazy. The question which divides us is whether it is crazy enough to have a chance at being correct. My own feeling is that it is not crazy enough.”
To that Freeman added: "When the great innovation appears, it will almost certainly be in a muddled, incomplete and confusing form. To the discoverer himself it will be only half understood; to everybody else it will be a mystery. For any speculation which does not at first glance look crazy, there is no hope.
