At 53yo, I can either take #Rapamycin, try avoiding protein and activating mTOR and wither away from Sarcopenia.
… OR think that it’s bringing down my over-activated (Hyperactive) mTOR levels to a balanced one that I had in my youth, and EAT and TRAIN like an athlete.
🚨 OMEGA-3 MAY HELP FIGHT SEVERE GUM DISEASE
A surprising 1-year study found that omega-3 plus low-dose aspirin worked almost as well as antibiotics in some patients with advanced gum disease.
About 58% reached the treatment goal with antibiotics, compared with 57.7% using omega-3 and aspirin.
Researchers believe this combination may help the body resolve inflammation naturally.
This does not mean you should replace prescribed treatment with supplements. More research is needed.

Chronic overactivation of mTOR is at the foundation of many age-related diseases.
As we get older, mTOR may stay active all the time—opening the door to out-of-control cell growth that can lead to cancer and closing the door on cell repair.

Rapamycin (sirolimus) prevents #insulin resistance during resistance exercise (RE). #rapamycin increases insulin sensitivity, while not preventing muscle hypertrophy caused by exercise. In brief, rapamycin plus RE is a double benefit

@hima72087@soshi_okamoto Metformin 500mg daily and Rapamycin 5mg once a week on 3 consecutive catabolic days followed by 3 anabolic days heavy weight training. Cycling mTOR is the only way to stop Hyperfunction theory of aging.
I plan to live until at least 150 years old.
More than 100,000 people die every single day because of aging. Not because they want to. Not because they’re ready. But because aging biology forces them to. It's a brutal reality. We watch our parents, relatives, friends, people we love or idols suffer from pain, functional decline and age-related diseases. It's seldom a peaceful thing. The fight against death starts way too late in life and gets very desperate in its character. We wait until big damage is done and then scramble to patch symptoms.
The image connected to this post highlights a massive problem in our life which is that we are stuck in an Old Paradigm (sickcare). Society spends 99.99% of its efforts on treating the symptoms of aging, specific age-related diseases like cancer, heart disease and dementia. It’s like trying to patch holes in a rapidly sinking ship. When one hole is plugged then another inevitably appears. It's just a matter of time. This approach is very costly, inefficient and will not be long-term sustainable. We will never win this fight if we only focus on the symptoms.
We must start to shift our focus from symptoms to target the root cause of age-related diseases, which is aging itself. By targeting aging, we have a far better chance to delay or even reverse all age-related diseases simultaneously. It’s time to modernize our approach and work smarter on the core problem. Currently only a tiny fraction of resources goes to this area. It's time to start prioritizing the root cause and stop postponing things.
Aging touches every life, whether through personal experience or the stories we witness around us. It brings decline, disease and loss but it may not need to remain this way. By targeting aging itself we may be able to rewrite the story of human life.
Our future depends on which paradigm we choose to support. Which paradigm gets your support?
@agingdoc1 You will be sadly missed.…. 😢 RIP my friend. I still think of you often when taking Rapamycin or studying the Hyperfunction Theory of Aging. Thank you so much for all your contributions to the Longevity Field. You’re a genius. A legend!
@calculatist That is 20%. Are there properties at that low price level in Karuizawa? I went to Karuizawa yesterday, from Minami-Minowa. Job hunting for real estate work opportunities.
Karuizawa is truly beautiful.
@anku505 I’m taking Rapa/Acarbose until I get too gassy, then I’m switching over to Rapa/Met for a while. Back and forth… I prefer the Rapa/Acarbose though.
high protein (good). Low/restricted protein extends lifespan in animals when given at birth, during developmental growth, yearly in life.
ALL nutrients activate mTOR.
Just combine protein with rapamycin
Decreasing your glycogen stores is a key to increasing insulin sensitivity, and with aerobic exercise, it may take hours to deplete them.
High-intensity exercise can do that in minutes.
A low ratio of triglycerides/HDL means a low risk of heart disease even when LDL ("bad") cholesterol is high
A high ratio means higher risk even with low LDL.
Triglyceride/HDL ratio is related to insulin resistance, not cholesterol.

@AtillaOzmumcu Yes, I do! Trying to avoid Sarcopenia as much as possible..
Animal protein, Whey Protein, Creatine + a Keto friendly diet. Lots of Vegetables/Fiber.
