The first @BitcoinConfEUR by @BitcoinMagazine I built a 3200 @BloemBitcoin tulip flower pallet. Dozens of @NoderunnersShop helped complete it when the doors opened for the first time at this amazing venue in Amsterdam.
The organization was done by Amsterdam Decentralized and they did an amazing job. Just like last year, where we actually heated the conference with old refurbished ASICS that we made silent with @BitcoinBrabant. For this years conference we were in progress to design a super cool heating and immersive experience with an educational twist.
Unfortunately @BitcoinMagazine was already shitcoining a little bit and letting some doubtful people speak and sponsor in the past. In general we could see that through the fingers (we would say in Dutch).
But this time it’s different. The unsustainable path chosen first with the scamming with ordinals was already a step too far. We contacted the organization and made clear we would not support the conference this year. We did this on March 21st.
People close to me heard this already and I didn’t want to go public with this before. But now they went even one step further and it’s time to call @BitcoinMagazine out.
Thank you for two beautiful years, but we can’t be part of this. I’m sad for the Dutch organizing team, they are lovely people and I really wish it would have been different.

Yesterday at the bitcoin Amsterdam meetup we had a lot of moments where we discussed UTXO management and issues with self custody. To give an example I live pulled my DCA from @relai_app to show this issue to @WitDeJesse. Because I saw the price was relatively low to consolidate we didn’t believe with this amount of UTXOs it would be such a low fee (~$30,-) checked the mempool and it was relatively low in comparison with the last weeks/months. So directly consolidated live at the spot.
After this live discussion about UTXO’s and much much more (fedi, privacy, lightning etc.)

We also talked about a live discussion about node setup with @GKBoris. I’ve been struggling for 2 years to add the first node setup to my @BitcoinBrabant shop and still don’t have the answer.
