Breaking: Ascend and M1X Global have completed the first live institutional repo trade on Stellar.

M1X Global and Ascend Markets financed USDM1 against Circle USDC onshore in the U.S., arranged through Peak Execution Services.

🏆 First institutional Repo trade in Stellar history
🏆 First Repo trade conducted onshore in US between US Persons and on a public network
🏆 First Perpetual Repo: initiated Friday and repurchased Monday, 24/7 financing over 72 rolls
🏆 First Repo trade originated, booked, and repurchased using Soroban smart contracts
🏆 Ascend's first revenue and clients, with more repo trades already underway!
🏆 First to use Ascend'ss Digital Tri-Party presented to the SEC Crypto Task Force on September 18, 2026
🏆 First to use @chainlink's new Data Feeds for @USDC as its price oracle on the Stellar Network
🏆 The first Repo trade to utilize the ERC-3643 @ERC3643Org version for Stellar, SEP-57 by @OpenZeppelin

✅ The full trade originated and occurred within the Soroban smart contracts, completely onchain: not a books-and-records copy and not a contrived routed trade on testnet.
✅ The digital security itself was pledged as collateral, not a receipt token or digital twin.
✅ The entire Repo trade occurred on the public blockchain, Stellar Network mainnet.
✅ The Repo trade was enforced with an executed SIFMA Master Repurchase Agreement and Annex.
✅ It was conducted onshore in the U.S. between U.S. persons, with applicable fees attributable to Ascend's subsidiary U.S.-registered broker-dealer, Peak Execution Services.
✅ The landmark trade was institutional requiring a significant number of engineers, lawyers, compliance, regulatory, business, and quantitative analyst personnel to accomplish.

Full details in my keynote at #Meridian2026 on October 29 in Lisbon, hosted by @BuildOnStellar, with more live trades and integrations to announce.

I want to thank everyone at @m1xglobal, @StellarOrg, @chainlink, @OpenZeppelin, @ERC3643Org, and @AscendFi @PSGDigital for the weeks of dedicated and difficult work to achieve this major milestone.

A milestone for institutional capital markets on Stellar.

More than half of trading in tokenized equities takes place outside regular market hours. The demand for 24/7 access is real. The challenge is building markets that are also deep, liquid, and resilient. Learn more in our GFSR chapter on tokenization: https://t.co/9cT70LCj40
