HAPPENING NOW! Truckloads of dogs and cats—many of them stolen pets—are being driven long distances across provincial borders without legally required quarantine documents to be brutally slaughtered for their meat in Yulin.
Please urge China to end the animal welfare and public health nightmare of Yulin’s dog and cat meat trade: https://t.co/FZs2YVBLwA
Extremely disturbing! A helpless animal is being brutally beaten with sticks just because it couldn't carry the heavy load of illegal mining in Chilkana.
Requesting @saharanpurpol to take strict and immediate action against this cruelty.

The video is so horrific that we can’t show it. 💔
The accused had been luring the dog to his premises subjecting her to sexual abuse for a month. The neighbours informed the dog’s guardian, who frantically called PETA India for help.
We worked with the Islampur Police Station to ensure an FIR was registered and commend them for their prompt help. Animal rapists often move on to human victims.

"..Animals though bereft of human speech are not bereft of sentience, suffering and the capacity to experience pain. The law, in its civilisational wisdom, has long ceased to view animals as mere chattels existing solely for human utility. The law now recognises animals also to be living beings entitled to dignity, compassion and protection from cruelty...."

Heartbroken by the devastating fire tragedy in Lucknow. Heartbreaking 💔
The loss of so many young students full of dreams, ambition, and hope for a brighter future is truly unimaginable. These were lives just beginning their journey, working tirelessly to build a better tomorrow. No parent should ever have to endure the pain of losing a child, especially one so young.
My deepest condolences and prayers are with the families who have suffered this unimaginable loss. May they find strength and courage during this incredibly difficult time, and may the departed souls rest in eternal peace.
It is also deeply saddening to learn that several innocent animals at a pet clinic in the same building reportedly lost their lives in the fire. Every life lost in such a tragedy is heartbreaking.
May such incidents remind us of the importance of fire safety, preparedness, and protecting every life. Om Shanti.
During an operation targeting alleged illegal cattle transportation, five cows were successfully rescued by Gaurakshaks.
Reports indicate cows were being transported towards the border when the interception occurred. Following their rescue, the cows were secured and provisions were made for their ongoing care. This incident has garnered local attention, with many commending the rescue efforts and advocating for enhanced monitoring to deter future occurrences of this nature.
Veteran actor Moushumi Chatterjee is asking @narendramodi a question all of us should be asking:
At what cost does "progress" come?
When forests disappear, wildlife corridors are destroyed, communities are displaced, and community dogs face harassment and removal, who is this development really serving?
Growth without compassion is not progress.

Huge win for compassion in Gurugram! 🐾
MCG plans 1,800 designated feeding points across ALL wards. This means fewer conflicts, safer streets, and full bellies.
SC-mandated zones finally becoming reality.

DID PUNJAB CM @BhagwantMann FACING HIS KARMA? HE WANTS TO REMOVE DOGS AND NOW HIS OWN COMMUNITY WANTS TOM REMOVE HIM?
Is his own community now seeing him as a disgrace to Sikh values?
@BhagwantMann wants to remove community dogs, and yesterday his MLA, @KulwantSinghS10, allegedly trespassed into a woman's home to take away her indie dog.
Today, the Akal Takht declared @BhagwantMann "anti-Guru." For a Sikh leader, such a declaration is a matter of serious concern and has sparked calls for accountability and resignation from many quarters.
Karma notices every act of cruelty and every intention to harm the innocent. Those who target vulnerable animals should remember that their actions have consequences.
Compassion is remembered. Cruelty is remembered too.

MEXICO HAS OFFICIALLY RECOGNIZED ITS "STREET DOGS" AS A NATIONAL SYMBOL:
THE "CARAMELO DOG"
Mexico has formally acknowledged its most common street dogs – the mixed-breed, caramel-colored “Caramelo” dogs – as part of the country’s national identity.
The recognition highlights stray and free-roaming dogs that have long lived in urban and rural areas across Mexico.
These dogs are not a standardized breed but a widely shared local type known for adaptability and survival in street environments.
The move is aimed at improving perception of stray dogs and supporting adoption efforts nationwide.
