According to the latest update from the Jammu Kashmir Human Rights Observatory (JKHRO) @jkhro_official, the verified civilian death toll has reached 89 as of 5 August 2026, following the addition of three newly verified cases.
JKHRO states that four additional reported cases remain under verification, bringing the total number of reported deaths to 93, while emphasizing that verification remains ongoing and figures may be updated as further field information and supporting evidence become available.
Every civilian life matters. We call for an independent, transparent, and impartial international investigation, protection of civilians, accountability for any human rights violations, and immediate humanitarian access to affected communities.
