@gavindew You know I said nothing of the sort.
Act like I'm trying to police your speech or ability to raise issues - I asked you to not to use pics of vulnerable and exposed people, who knows what else she has been through.
People are commenting on your post that she's not even human.
@gavindew This is the conversation we can have - it does not require photos of this person. Tell the story, make the argument, the pictures are not necessary.
@gavindew Gavin - don't do this. This is someone obviously sick & extremely vulnerable. Who knows what else she's been through. Fight for what you think is right, but take this down. We can debate the path forward and the tools to use, but this isn't it
Do better here. This is a person.
Please consider supporting our fundraiser to raise money for the Balmoral mural. Trey's last project.
Weve started and you can come by and say hi at 159 East Hastings. A big thanks to @oddfellowsent for all of your support.
We had some unexpected costs due to a few city requirements that we wont get in to but the city is also providing the lot and the paint so we are not complaining.

Ill keep posting progress.
Thanks again for your support.
DTES Artist Collective bringing color and beauty to Chinatown. The owner of the store Ga Cheong traditional herbal medicine was there helping with lettering. A great learning experience and cultural exchange. Two communities working together building bridges. @oddfellowsent@lorrainelowe_ thanks to @VanPoliceBoard@VanPoliceFnd@DeputyChow
Another night of painting Chinatown by the DTES Artist Collective 🎨 great to see tbe overwhelming community support. Thanks to Freddy and the @VanPoliceFnd and Trey, Smokey and Jesse for building bridges even when times are hard. Its a beautiful thing. @oddfellowsent
Video from the Ovaltine cafe free meal the other night. Looking to support more meals like this, go say hi to grace at the Ovaltine, grab some lunch and support some community aid.

@koicows@sarahblyth@DtesHub138@DeputyLaurin@DeputyChow@lorrainelowe_@rusmaynard Could not agree more. OPS and the Ashtrey are a phenomenal path to employment for people in the community. I believe we currently have 90 peers working between the two locations. We also provide a path for people to work outside of OPS in places like the film industry.
Re today's motion at Vancouver City Council re Overdose Prevention Sites
There are ministry standards that exist for Overdose Prevention Sites. A emergency health order was called because of the rise in deaths due to toxic drugs. Overdose Prevention Sites save lives and are an emergency responce.
Of course Overdose Prevention Sites Should be good neighbors in every possible way. Every possible way....
But the fact is the toxic drugs still exist and they are still killing people. Still creating chaos.
The City should be working with VCH to implement ministry service standards. We should be working together. Politicizing his issue is not helpful to anyone.
I am happy to work on this with anyone willing.
Thank you for listening.
