So grateful for the opportunity to chat about energy, mitochondria, and health with @hubermanlab.
Would love to hear your thoughts and lived experiences if anything resonates particularly strongly.
Thrilled to see @MitoPsychoBio bringing mitochondrial biology into focus on the @hubermanlab podcast! Check out this great discussion, which highlights the central role of mitochondria in health and longevity: https://t.co/QrdtB79PZH

An elegant new study shows that remodeling of mitochondrial morphology and energy metabolism enables cancer cells to survive in acidic tumor microenvironments--more evidence that mitochondria play crucial roles in both health and disease.

In his 1890 monograph, Richard Altmann described “bioblasts” (now known as mitochondria) as elementary organisms living within the cell. Their social lives are never more apparent than when directly observing their dynamic behaviors, as seen here in a primary liver cell.
Mitochondria in liver cells often look like a sunburst, radiating from two nuclei at the cellular center. Read more about the vital role that mitochondria play in our health: https://t.co/wEuu6gLxcW
How does energy keep us alive?
Our bodies are resistive energetic circuits where electrons flow from food→oxygen in our mitochondria. It's only through energy resistance (éR) - like electrical resistance - that transformation of energy into life is possible.
The Energy Resistance Principle ⎸ ERP explains how this happens. In this paper, we cover the implications of fine-tuning éR for health, disease, aging, and the human experiences make up the mind.

We spend so much money to kick the can down the road. Our model of what health is and how to foster it is deeply broken.
In 50 years, new generations will look back at 2000-2025 and feel sorry for our science and policies that had things so backwards. Now is a time of change.
Map of functional diversity in mitochondria across the human brain -- very cool! Congratulations @MitoPsychoBio on a groundbreaking study!

Thrilled to share the last review of the lab led by @Tabara_LC and @MayukoSegawa on the mechanisms regulating mitochondrial morphology!!! @MRC_MBU
Just out in @NatRevMCB. Thanks @lisa_heinke for the smooth editorial process!
Congratulations, @GulcinPekkurnaz and team, on this fascinating study showing the O-GlcNAc-dependent assembly of a glycolytic metabolon on mitochondria, promoting metabolic efficiency in neurons!
