The $TAO community (including myself) has been scared to deploy TAO tokens into Bittensor subnets. I understand this fear. It exposes you to potentially losing TAO tokens if you’re wrong and your subnet token investment goes down in price.

But here’s why I’ve started deploying TAO tokens into subnets more aggressively over the last week, and it’s very simple. It all comes down to this very basic concept:

IF YOU ARE A LONG TERM HOLDER OF $TAO, AND A BELIEVER IN WHAT BITTENSOR IS DOING IN THE AI WORLD, THEN IT STANDS TO REASON THAT YOU SHOULD BE A BELIEVER IN BITTENSOR SUBNETS.

After all, what is Bittensor if not for the 70+ subnets on the network rt now, most of whom are actively pumping out valuable AI tools and services that rival or even exceed what is currently being offered by a company like Open Ai?

You’ve got everything from subnets offering massive compute power, to data analytics, proprietary trading algos, biological analytics that will help in medicine, predictive sports betting analytics, speech recognition, inference, LLMs, data scraping, and so much more. Al in one ecosystem.

Without the subnets, Bittensor is nothing. An empty shell. A theory. And possibly a failed theory at that.

The subnets are what makes Bittensor valuable. And we need the subnets to succeed in order for Bittensor to succeed!

You know how we can help the subnets succeed?

1) take the time to understand the subnets, what they do, the teams, etc.

2) choose your favorite subnets and invest your TAO into them. The more TAO you invest the higher their emissions are. The higher their emissions, the more capital they have to continue operations and expand. Just look at what the community has done for SN8, ptn and @0xarrash !

3) tell your friends, family and co-workers about Bittensor and the subnets. Tell them about how you’re investing in this unique and untapped ecosystem of AI powerhouse projects at the ground floor and show them how to invest in it for themselves. They WILL thank you later.

4) find the X accounts for as many subnets as you can as well as the X accounts for subnet founders. Follow them and click the bell icon to be notified of all posts. Share their posts to help create brand awareness and bring more people into the ecosystem. Community in crypto is vitally important. We are a marketing arm for the Bittensor ecosystem.

I understand the hesitancy and I’m not saying we should be deploying 100% of our TAO into subnets with reckless abandon.

But I’m saying it’s up to us in the TAO community to help the subnets, and thus Bittensor, succeed. And that’s not gonna happen if we all sit on the sidelines like scared little bitches waiting for the right time to invest in SN tokens. Pick some you believe in and take the leap with a percentage of your portfolio.

Will you lose some Tao on some of them? Maybe. But you’ll also make a KILLING on some other ones so net net you’ll probably increase your TAO bag tremendously over the next 6 months to a year.

as dTAO subnet prices go up, [ Root Stakers get a higher APY ] on their staked TAO.

this is because Root auto-sells it's subnet tokens as it receives them, converting it to $tao and giving it to Root stakers.

right now, [ everyone's happy ]. dTAO buyers are up. Root stakers passively benefiting.

eventually, Root will receive a lower % of emissions, meaning it won't have subnet tokens to sell, meaning more [ Root stakers will eventually move their staked $tao into subnets ].
