DEUTSCHLANDS NIEDERGANG
4. Deutschland fällt in allen Bildungs-Rankings zurück.
10. Bürokratie = in Gesetze gegossene Ideologie. Beispiel Bauen. BASF.
Action is the cure for most of your problems:
– Acknowledge what happened: mourn it, celebrate what was, then move on
– Get your "gear back on" immediately, don't wait for the feeling to pass
– Take action fast, the longer adversity sits unchallenged in your head, the stronger it gets
– The action doesn't have to be massive, just forward movement
– Do a quick analysis: why did it go wrong, what gate do I need to jump through next time
– Then go execute that next step

100% Agree @GavinSBaker. Now, I'm going to debunk every single piece of mis-information about data centers that I've ever seen online:
> DISINFORMATION: Data centers use a lot of water.
FACT: Most AI data centers are closed loop dry cooler design that barely consume any water at all. A 20MW 10,000 GPU cluster needs 20,000 gallons to charge and doesn't use material water after that. That's less than 1/4 of the amount of water used to raise the amount of beef the average American consumes in a year. That means one of the largest data centers in the world, at 2GW, consumes less water than 20 people's annual beef consumption or three American's total water footprint (@ ~600k gallons per year for the average American).
> DISINFORMATION: Data centers increase electricity prices.
FACT: Data centers bring down a community's average electricity bill because they spur development of new power generation. Most data centers bring their own power generation, pay fees to the utility to build more power plants, or bring their own power storage to actually reduce the cost of energy in their community. Northern Virginia has some of the most data centers per capita and has low power costs. See research from the Electric Power Research Institute https://t.co/8fMZcIgMhx and https://t.co/KK04Pl8998.
>DISINFORMATION: Data centers don't create jobs
FACT: Data centers create hundreds of jobs at construction and a high number of exceptionally high paying jobs (many over $120k/year) for their ongoing operation and maintenance. No, they're not similar to an automotive plant in terms of the jobs / MW but they are phenomenal additions to an industrial park and community.
> DISINFORMATION: Data centers are constantly super noisy
FACT: Data centers are one of the quietest industrial buildings in the world. Drive by a data center in your city and roll down your window. They are very quiet. In fact, a metal mill is FAR louder than a data center---up to 10,000,000 more sound energy is produced by a mill and perceptually a mill can be 128x louder than a data center.
> DISINFORMATION: Data centers emit noise pollution from diesel engines running all the time.
FACT: Emergency generator sets are almost never turned on unless the grid connection goes out. This would be less than 0.5% of the time!
> DISINFORMATION: Data centers are surveillance systems
FACT: Data centers actually just host computers owned by private companies that are used to make phone calls, access the internet, run ChatGPT, Claude, X, Instagram, Facebook, Google, play multiplayer video games, and every thing you ever do online. That's it.
> DISINFORMATION: Data centers make water dirty
FACT: AOC held up a bottle of dirty water and said this is what data centers do. Completely false, well water disruption is a rare side effect of EVERY construction site in the history of humanity. This is not at all unique to data centers and is a complete red herring.
> DISINFORMATION: Data centers get massive tax breaks and drain tax dollars from towns
FACT: Data centers pay massive amounts of tax and often times huge % of an annual budget of a county or town! It's an absolute bonanza for the towns that are lucky enough to welcome a data center. New schools, new roads, new services are all paid for. Even if there is a sales tax rebate we're still talking tens of millions of new tax revenue. In 2022, Virginia’s data centers collectively generated $1 billion in local tax revenue and $640 million in state tax revenue! That was 2022. https://t.co/Oijl1TC7yb
Feel free to reply here if you have any other question you'd like answered about data centers happy to provide actual facts.
The Bessent Put
Today the US Treasury doubled the size of its long-end bond buybacks, the day after the 30-year yield hit a 19-year high at 5.33%. The extra dollars are small. The signal is enormous.
For the first time, the fiscal authority, not the Fed, stepped in to defend the long end within 24 hours of the highs. There is now a put under the long bond, and the market has just been told the top of the range...
Look at the plumbing underneath it...
The buybacks pull old, illiquid bonds off dealer balance sheets and get funded at the front end with bills, which the banking system absorbs. Duration out, money-like paper in. Lower long-end volatility raises the collateral value of every Treasury in the repo system, which is itself a liquidity easing. And the QRA language quietly changed two weeks ago to allow exactly this.
It isn't happening in isolation. This month's joint yen intervention was about stopping Japan from ever becoming a forced seller of Treasuries, and the new dollar swap lines across Asia and the Gulf keep the region's dollar debts rolling, with China the ultimate beneficiary. A weaker dollar is the tool that brings the big foreign buyers, Japan and eventually China, back to the long end. Supply managed on one side, demand rebuilt on the other.
With a long end now potentially anchored, the steepening of the curve should come from Warsh, who will probably deliver his part of the grand bargain between the Fed and the Treasury.
All of this is to fund the hyperscaler capex along with government debt. For the first time since the GFC both public and private debt as a % of GDP are growing and both are vital.
This is the everything code fully at play and brings together many threads I've been talking about for the last two years. The debt must be serviced and liquidity, by whichever mechanism they can route it, is the method.
Financial conditions started easing through both legs at once today, and financial conditions are the first domino in the sequence we have been mapping all year.
To be warned this is not an instant liquidity flood happening right now. This is the entire scaffolding being set up for the much larger game. The Great Game is the funding of the aging population along with the funding of the new demographic of AI and robots. Both games are too big and too important to stop. The funding of the the intelligence build out is the most important game of all time. It is too big to fail.
The full Flash Update is coming for GMI and RV Pro members came out earlier today: the full mechanism, the 2011 and 1940s precedents, what it likely means for every asset class, and what would prove the thesis wrong.
Overall today was a big marker point on a story that I've been predicting for many years and have the receipts to prove it. The outcome is always MOAR COWBELL!
2017 waren es 20 Billionen US-Dollar.
2008 waren es 10 Billionen US-Dollar.
Eine Verdopplung alle 9 Jahre. 😳
Bitcoin fixes this! ⚡️
Lyn Alden: Money supply in the developed world has historically grown around 7% per year.
The average salary raise = Maybe 2-3%.
Over a decade, you're getting a smaller and smaller share of the total money supply just by showing up to work.
"People kind of look around and say, 'why does it seem like everything's more expensive? I'm still earning money, but it just doesn't feel like it goes as far.'"
"And a lot of times they're right."
FT @LynAldenContact@PeterMcCormack.
Deutschland hat kein Einnahmenproblem.
Deutschland hat ein Ausgabenproblem. 🥶🥶🥶
This is the most important chart in all of macro and most people still don't get it.
Labor force participation rate vs government debt as a % of GDP, inverted. They move in perfect lockstep.
Government debt has been accumulated to offset the declining working-age population, and from 2008 onwards, that debt has been mostly just servicing old debts while interest payments keep compounding.
Demographics are destiny and ours are already written. The workers for the next decade have already been born. Or rather, they haven't been.
Which means the borrowing and the debasement aren't going to ease. They're going to accelerate.
Clint Eastwood !!!! ❤️

Money printing has never created a single unit of wealth, and the persistence of poverty across the globe is the proof.
Wealth is goods and services: bread on the shelf, steel in the warehouse, code that runs, machines that produce. When the Federal Reserve expanded its balance sheet from $900 billion in 2008 to $8.9 trillion by 2022, it produced none of those things. It produced digits. Those digits do not feed a man in Caracas or build a factory in Lagos. They bid up the price of assets already owned by the people closest to the spigot, which is why the wealthiest decile in America saw its net worth balloon while wage earners watched rent and groceries outrun their paychecks.
You must understand the mechanism. New money enters the economy at specific points: the Treasury, the primary dealers, the banks. The man who receives it first spends it at old prices. The man who receives it last, the pensioner, the wage laborer, the saver in a poor country holding a collapsing currency, spends it at new prices. This is the Cantillon effect, named for Richard Cantillon, who described it around 1730. Inflation is a transfer from the late receivers to the early receivers. It moves wealth. It does not make it.
Look at the countries drowning in poverty and you will find central banks running the printing press hardest. Zimbabwe printed a 100-trillion-dollar note in 2008. Argentina has debased the peso so relentlessly that inflation crossed 200 percent in 2023, and its people store value in physical dollars stuffed into mattresses. Venezuela destroyed the bolivar so completely that vendors weighed banknotes rather than count them.
Easy money did not lift these populations. It looted their savings, shortened their time horizons, and taught entire generations to consume today because tomorrow's currency buys nothing.
Hard money does the opposite. When the unit of account holds its value, a man can save, defer consumption, and fund the capital accumulation that actually raises living standards. Debasement punishes the saver and rewards the debtor and the speculator. A society that cannot save cannot build. If printing money created wealth, Zimbabwe would be the richest nation on earth.
Bitcoin gibt meiner gespeicherten Lebenszeit neue Eigenschaften.

2 Lektionen sollte man hieraus lernen:
1. Fehlende Volatilität zieht systemische Risiken an.
