We request the BMC Garden Department to ensure that Yogi Hills Municipal Garden, City Survey No. 26, Mulund (W), remains open from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

Despite HIRWA encouraging residents to visit and use this public garden, morning walkers and senior citizens are returning disappointed because the gate remains closed even at 7:00 AM.

A garden that remains inaccessible during morning hours defeats the very purpose of providing a public recreational space. Regular footfall by residents is essential to keep the garden actively used and enjoyed by the community.

We appeal to the Assistant Commissioner, T Ward, and the Garden Department to ensure timely opening of the gate and display the prescribed timings prominently.

Please make this garden accessible to the citizens it was created to serve.

Why is a pedestrian footpath being allowed to be used as an unauthorised storage yard for bamboo poles by unidentified persons?

📍 Near Yogi Hills Garden, next to Oxford CHS, Yogi Hills, Mulund (W).

As the photograph shows, bamboo poles have occupied a substantial stretch of the footpath, forcing pedestrians to negotiate dangerous obstructions, particularly after dark. Senior citizens, women and children are especially vulnerable.

Since the official @mybmcWardT handle remains suspended, we are compelled to bring this issue to BMC Headquarters.

Footpaths are meant for pedestrians, NOT for storing materials!

@mybmc, please arrange for the immediate removal of these bamboo poles, identify those responsible and prevent the footpath from being used for unauthorised storage again.

Will BMC's #PedestrianFirst campaign translate into action on the ground?

MMRDA slaps ₹2 crore penalty on contractor; safety violations won’t be tolerated

An unfortunate incident occurred at the Anand Nagar–Saket Elevated Road project site in Thane, where a reinforcement cage of an under-construction pier toppled onto a moving car on Kopri Bridge, damaging its front windshield. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported.

Taking serious cognisance of the incident, MMRDA has imposed a penalty of ₹2 crore on the contractor, J. Kumar Infrastructure Limited. A detailed investigation has been ordered to ascertain the cause of the incident and identify safety lapses.

The damaged vehicle has been removed, and the tilted reinforcement cage is being safely removed with the assistance of a crane. Necessary corrective measures will be enforced to prevent recurrence.

Public safety remains MMRDA’s highest priority. All contractors are expected to adhere strictly to prescribed construction safety standards. Any failure to comply with these standards will be dealt with strictly, with accountability enforced at every project site.

I believe the Sion bridge is now ready. If that is indeed so, I hope they open it at the earliest without waiting for availability of people to inaugurate it. It has caused a lot of hardship and the earlier it eases, the better it will be for the public.

🚨 EXCLUSIVE BREAKING:

How can SGNP authorities permit such massive sound setups inside a protected eco-sensitive zone? This blatant disregard for wildlife directly violates the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972, Section 27/35 restricting prohibited activities in National Parks, and the Noise Pollution Rules, 2000. Stop commercializing Mumbai's green lungs—protect wildlife peace now!

SGNP's official clarification is needed.

People don't understand Napoleon's insane IQ. Napoleon once spotted a shipment of boots missing in an army of 500,000 troops. Napoleon once recalled 2 cannons missing from formation of 500 of them. Napoleon would read for 12 hours straight on the most abstruse subjects. Napoleon had a custom library designed to take with him on campaign. Napoleon would dictate and read letters while taking baths. Napoleon would kick his counselors awake when they started falling asleep at 2 in the morning. You are very likely not operating at Napoleon's level. When you study the greats of history you really realize the true level of genius that these people operate at.

Respected Madam, @myBESTBus

Attached is the ticket documenting the ordeal of Route 405 commuters. Residents of Model Town, Swapna Nagari, Veena Nagar Phase 2 & Yogi Hills waited 51 MINUTES (7:25–8:16 PM) at the starting point during peak hours, despite a scheduled frequency of 18 minutes, for a journey of barely 20 minutes!

With auto fares of ₹55–60 to Yogi Hills, this is an unfair burden on ordinary Mumbaikars who depend on affordable public transport.

Why must Route 405 commuters suffer because their buses get trapped in traffic via Dumping Road and Mulund Check Naka? We have repeatedly suggested diverting its return journey via Bhakti Marg, following the Route 401 alignment to Mulund Station, to improve frequency and ridership.

Meanwhile, Route 401 serves Shreenagar/Thane, reportedly carrying full loads and being among the most profitable routes. Yet these commuters are residents of Thane, paying their municipal taxes to Thane Municipal Corporation—not Greater Mumbai. Why should Mulund commuters, within BMC’s jurisdiction, be left waiting while a heavily patronised, profitable service benefits Thane residents at the expense of Mumbai’s own commuters?

Please review route-wise passenger loads, ticket-sale data, profitability and scheduling, and urgently rationalise services in the public interest.

BEST must prioritise the needs of Mumbai commuters and ensure fair, efficient public transport for all!
