@charlottep011 I agree Charlotte! I have also seen some of my favourite artists perform live, and it changes the songs completely. Recorded versions are not the best compared to when you listen to a live performance. #F22POPMUS
@erinhopkins22 I agree Erin! Listening to live music is unforgettable and the audience creates this love towards the artist once hearing them live. It is more than just hearing your favourite artist perform, but enjoying this experience with many other people. #F22POPMUS
I would have to disagree with Wald's assessment because in my opinion today's pop audience would much rather listen and dance to their favourite music live. Live music is pure and has a stronger feel, other than recorded music with autotune. #F22POPMUS
@jjackb02 I agree! It doesn't matter the type of music and intensity of the black musician's music, their music speaks for who they are and what they believe in, so it is unnecessary for other people to create a "clean" version for their white audience. #F22POPMUS
@zoemcdonald01 I agree! It is important to be aware of this issue and to let people be known the history of "schlock" music. Although this is not something to be remembered, it is important in learning the importance of music. #F22POPMUS
This music is considered to be "schlock" as it was written by white middle-class teens who only performed music that appealed to the white audience. Also, they were reported for "cultural theft" as they took other artists' music as their own. #F22POPMUS
@ErinWay14 I agree, he showed the listeners that this song can be listened to by anyone, no matter the preference of music you're used to. He easily showed emotion while also capturing the depth and meaning of the song. #F22POPMUS
@kdsdearing I agree! He chose the right style of singing for this song as he clearly proved the meaning and emotions behind the lyrics of the song. #F22POPMUS
#F22POPMUS Ray Charles used a breaking voice to clearly show his emotions and feelings in the song "I've got a woman". This is an emotional song and he has no trouble demonstrating his emotions with his voice.
@jenniferrose02 I agree, there is a lot of repetition in artists' "new and original" ideas, and after a while this music can get boring and repetitive. #F22POPMUS
@RyanH0bbs I agree Ryan, the popular music created is only for the tune/beat and for popularity/fame, as it should be more focused on the words and meaning of the story behind the song. #F22POPMUS
A "false need" that has been created by popular music is the formula people "have" to follow when writing a song; including a verse, chorus and bridge. This causes issues in popular music as every song, no matter the genre needs this formula to appeal to society. #F22POPMUS
