For 24 years, the Chandra X-ray observatory has unraveled the mysteries of the universe from right here in Massachusetts. With Chandra poised for groundbreaking discoveries into the 2030s, I'm urging @NASA to continue Chandra's missions and enable many more years of discovery.
Three PhD positions open in the University of Bath Astrophysics group, one on nuclear physics and neutron stars with Dr David Tsang (me), one on GRB afterglow simulations with Dr Hendrik Van Eerten, and one on AGN outlfows with Dr Carolin Villforth.
Congratulations to the #XRISM instrument teams! Resolve (the microcalorimeter) has even better energy resolution than its requirement, and look at that beautiful image from Xtend! Excited for all the AGN science to come :)
🌟 Exciting News! 🌌 First light images are now live! 🛰️ Explore the intricate details of the N132D supernova remnant and the vast expanse of galaxy cluster Abell 2319.

I'm hiring a postdoc in my group (@MITKavli@MIT_Physics ), working on a combination of machine learning, Dark Matter, Gaia, and simulations. The due date is FRIDAY! Please forward to interested candidates! https://t.co/LAx6Knesci
Searching for the elusive intermediate-mass black holes, @ArcodiaRiccardo found something quite puzzling https://t.co/2AxlE0u1mp (today). @eROSITA_SRG#blackholes
UMD astronomy is hiring! It's an open call, though we're particularly interested in observers this time. Feel free to message if you're interested and have questions, since I went through the process not that long ago.

Join us tomorrow, Nov. 3 at 12 PM Eastern for our monthly AXIS science seminar!
This month, our speakers are:
Helen Russell: AGN feedback in elliptical galaxies with AXIS
&
Anna Trindade Falcao: Resolving AGN-host Interactions in Nearby Seyfert Galaxies
Our recent paper on JWST's overmassive black holes at z > 4 was featured on @astrobites by MIT grad student Megan Masterson, in @ErinAstro's fantastic group! Great article! Thank you! :)

This is NOT “first light,” and is not from a celestial source. This is the on-orbit spectrum of the onboard Fe-55 cal source illuminating the full XRISM Resolve array, showing a resolution of ~4.4 eV. First science results to come in late 2023/early 2024!
Excited to share the first of several positions opening up in my group @GRAPPAinstitute. This one is a postdoc position on multi-messenger astrophysics with the LISA mission. Please share widely & applications from ECRs are welcome, esp. those from underrepresented gps in physics
I am hoping to hire a postdoc to start in the summer or fall, to work on exoplanet or brown dwarf atmospheres! Details here: https://t.co/2CdPwsHCPB
Join us here in beautiful Austin!
Job! Job! Job! Boston University will be searching for a tenure-track assistant professor in Astronomy this Fall, with applications first considered starting Nov 1. Applications from all areas of astrophysics should apply! https://t.co/kCoyR2pcdf
